🌎💚 LICADD is proud to partner with Gabriel's Giving Tree and F.I.S.T. ~ Families in Support of Treatment for the 2026 Earth Day Free Fun Fair, taking place this Sunday, April 19.

This event is a meaningful opportunity for the community to come together in celebration of Earth Day and shared purpose. The day will begin with a Community Clean-Up from 10 AM – 12 PM, followed by a FREE Fun Fair from 12 PM – 4 PM, featuring nature walks, games, crafts, and activities for all ages.

Attendees will also enjoy live music by Victoria Said and The Sunshine Puppet Show, creating a welcoming and engaging experience for families and community members.

LICADD extends its sincere appreciation to our generous sponsors: The Gino Macchio Foundation-Put Recovery to Work, Live With A Purpose Foundation, a private family foundation in Florida, and an anonymous donor, whose support helps make this event possible.

At LICADD, our commitment to addressing substance use and mental health-related challenges extends into every corner of the community, including correctional settings.

In this staff spotlight, Bri shares how she provides specialized mental health and substance use treatment within correctional facilities in Suffolk County. Her work supports individuals who are under mental observation as well as those incarcerated and struggling with substance use challenges.

Through compassionate, evidence-based care, our goal is to promote stability, rehabilitation, and successful re-entry, helping individuals build healthier pathways forward and strengthening long-term community outcomes.

Because of your support, LICADD is able to reach thousands of individuals and families across Long Island providing guidance, hope, and healing:

✨ 80,000 families supported through Employee Assistance Program (EAP), providing counseling in substance use, mental health and workplace/family dynamics

✨ 13,400 students, mental health professionals, educators, school professionals, and community members reached through our Prevention Education Team

✨ 1,500 services the FIST-GGT-LICADD programs have provided through support groups, bereavement support groups, individual family counseling and coaching.

Each number represents a life touched, a family strengthened, and a step toward brighter, healthier futures.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Connor Petersen, MHC-LP, Anger Management Coordinator

Through LICADD’s uniquely designed Anger Management Program, Connor guides participants step by step to develop positive self-image, improve relationships, and transform unhealthy behaviors.

Using our 8 Core Skills for managing emotions, like responding instead of reacting, developing empathy, and assertive communication, participants gain tools to heal, grow, and strengthen their connections with others.

Our 12-week group sessions are available virtually and in-person, with individual counseling and one-day intensive courses offered every other month. Your support helps make these life-changing services accessible to those who need them most.
