Nervous about your first massage? Here are some tips to get the most out of your sessions.

1. If you’d prefer to focus on specific muscles or if you would rather relax, have a goal in mind for what you’d like to accomplish during your sessions.
2. Undress to your level of comfort. Other than working on client goals, comfort and safety are my top priorities for all my clients. Some clients fully undress, some prefer to keep certain articles of clothing on. Whichever you prefer, you’re always guaranteed a quality massage.
3. This next tip might sound odd but try your best to relax during your massage. Most of the time, clients will tense up and guard during session. Reminding yourself to take deep breaths and focus on releasing muscles can lead to even better results.
4. Don’t be afraid to speak up. Is the pressure too much? Too little? Maybe it’s too bright or the music is too loud. By saying something, you will not only improve your current session but all future sessions.
