🥵 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐒 🥵
💦 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱: Drink plenty of water, even if you do not feel thirsty. Avoid sugary, caffeinated and alcoholic drinks.
🥶𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹: Spend time in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible. Use fans, take cool showers, and avoid direct sunlight.
☀️ 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you must be outside, take frequent breaks in the shade and stay hydrated.
👕 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆: Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing. Use a wide-brimmed hat to protect yourself from the sun.
🏘 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀: Keep an eye on family members, friends and neighbors, especially the elderly and those with chronic health conditions.
🚗 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲: Never leave children, pets or anyone else in a parked car, even for a short time.
🥵 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁-𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: Learn the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and seek immediate medical attention if needed.

The Jonnycake Center of Westerly's Power Pack program provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks to 250 school-age children in Westerly, Charlestown, Richmond, and Hopkinton, RI on weekends, holidays, and school vacations.

Donations to this program can be made behind our building Weekdays 10 am to 3 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 12 pm

SIGNED: A new alert to find missing people with disabilities has been finalized!

With the Governor's signature, Rhode Island is now just the sixth state to have this life-saving alert.

This is a huge step forward for disability rights and safety.
