Because none of us get to live a life completely free of stress, trauma, and injury, we all tend to perceive the unyielding and fixed forces of solid ground and gravity as threats. Yes, solid ground is viewed as a threat by all our nervous systems!

None of us have pristine nervous systems; we all have sensory gaps, and these gaps alter how we move. This phenomenon is known as neural compensation.

Compensation takes optimal performance off the table. Pathway #2, #3, or #101 will never be as effective as #1. By addressing sensory gaps, we reduce the need to compensate and consistently achieve notable improvements in our movement system outcomes.

Accurately addressing sensory gaps leads to lasting results because our brains are wired for efficiency and survival. The brain will always (and I mean ALWAYS!!) choose the most efficient pathway available, as this enhances economy and increases our chances of survival.

When we effectively address sensory gaps, better pathways emerge, and the brain continues to utilize those paths, ensuring that improvements in outcomes persist.
