My go-to 10–20 minute reset to stay sharp without wrecking my sleep is simpler than you might think. When I’m working with professional athletes or managing the day-to-day at the clinic, I don't always have an hour to decompress. But I’ve learned that a short, intentional pause is often more effective than pushing through the mental fog. It usually involves stepping away from the screen and focusing on a few specific mobility movements or a brief guided breathing session. It’s about signaling to my nervous system that it’s okay to downshift for a moment. This isn't about checking out. It’s about checking back in so I can show up for my clients with the focus they deserve. If you’ve been feeling that afternoon slump, try taking just fifteen minutes today. Move your body a little. My go-to 10–20 minute reset to stay sharp without wrecking my sleep.

Most people hit a mid-afternoon wall and reach for coffee. I used to do the same: until I realized it just pushed my exhaustion into the evening and messed with my recovery.

Now I use a different tool. I call it the recovery reset.

It is a short window to intentionally down-regulate my nervous system. I am not talking about a nap that leaves you feeling groggy. This is about deep relaxation: while staying awake.

It clears mental fog and calms physical tension from sitting at a desk or training hard. Ten minutes is usually all I need for a fresh start.

This type of recovery is the foundation of my sessions in Westerville. I focus on getting your body out of the stress loop so you can perform at your best.

If you are stuck in a cycle of burnout or physical tightness, your body is likely screaming for a reset. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop moving for twenty minutes.

One of the most common questions I get at my studio in Westerville is about the marks left behind after a cupping session. Many people think they are bruises, but they are actually quite different.

The weather in Central Ohio just set a trap.

One day of 50-degree sunshine in February and suddenly every sidewalk in Westerville and Dublin is packed. I see it every year: the sudden urge to run three miles or spend four hours clearing the yard after a winter of sitting.

Your mind is ready for spring but your nervous system is still in hibernating mode. Since 2012, I have seen this False Spring injury wave hit my table like clockwork. Your muscles and joints haven't had the gradual load required to handle that sudden burst of activity.

You stretch every single morning. You spend ten minutes on the floor every night. Yet, by the time you sit down at your desk in Westerville or finish a workout, that familiar tightness is right back where it started.

It is incredibly frustrating to feel like you are doing the work without seeing the results.

Here is the thing I have learned since I started practicing in 2012. There is a massive difference between flexibility and mobility.

Flexibility is simply how far a muscle can stretch when it is pulled. Mobility is how much control you actually have over that movement.

If your brain does not feel safe or strong in a specific range of motion, it will tighten those muscles right back up to protect you. It is a defense mechanism.

It is not just about how far you can bend. It is about how your body moves through space.

When you come see me, I am looking at why your body is holding onto that tension in the first place. Whether you are an athlete in Dublin or just trying to keep up with your kids in Lewis Center, the goal is to get your muscles working with you, not against you.
