NOTE: The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline can be an excellent resource for help. But, please be aware they are trained to use their discretion to call for an"active rescue" despite the caller not wanting interventions. This may translate into law enforcement showing up before the EMTs. The police showing up before the EMTs- especially for those of us in the global majority may not best the answer. I am not saying don't call. I'm saying know what a call or text to these resources can mean.
