Vision benefits available every 2 calendar years include:
• Comprehensive eye exam covered after applicable copay
• Standard glass or plastic eyeglass lenses covered 100%
• Frame allowance up to $40
• Contact lens benefit available
• Additional discounts on lens enhancements and vision products

During his visit to Ohio, Ohio Laborers Benefits and the Ohio Laborers' District Council had the opportunity to interview Brent Booker, General President of LIUNA.
He spoke about what it truly means to support members at every stage of life — from protecting healthcare and pension benefits to making mental health and member well-being a priority. He also shared his journey in the union and the honor of representing hardworking LIUNA members across the United States and Canada.

We had a great time at a luncheon with our retirees from Local Union 574 in Marion, where we were able to thank them for everything they’ve contributed over the years and recognize the importance of their pension and insurance benefits in supporting them through retirement.

They also received souvenirs and participated in prize giveaways as a small reminder that they are, and will always be, part of LIUNA and Local 574.

These gatherings are a meaningful reminder of the LIUNA community they continue to be part of, the pride in their work, strong benefits like healthcare in retirement, and the lifelong friendships and camaraderie built along the way.

Thank you, Local Union 574, for the invitation and for continuing to strengthen our union across generations.

For two days, business managers from LIUNA locals across Ohio gathered alongside LIUNA General President Brent Booker to share updates, strengthen partnerships, discuss industry challenges, and focus on the future of our organization and our members.
These meetings also highlight the importance of strong benefits. Healthcare coverage, mental health resources, pension protection, member assistance programs, and training opportunities all play a key role in supporting members on and off the job throughout every stage of their careers.

After many years in the field, one of the instructors at the Ohio Laborers' Training Center is now helping shape the next generation of laborers. He shared how benefits like the pension and annuity are something younger members may not think about right away, but become one of the strongest foundations you can build for your future and your family. Many laborers are taught to “push through the pain.” But physical injuries can affect more than just the body. Studies show chronic pain and work injuries are strongly connected to:
