Bella Care Hospice Columbus CELEBRATE LIFE! Hospice is a set of services that we all may need someday -- if not for ourselves, for our family or friends.

While death is not an option for any of us, we do have choices about the services we use at the end of life. Hospice is undoubtedly the best option in the last months of life because it offers a whole variety of benefits, not only to those of us who are dying, but also to those we leave behind. Yet, despite its many advantages, hospice is still a mystery to most Americans, even 25 years after its

introduction to this country. Now, more than ever, there is a sense of urgency to dispel the myths and to learn as much as possible about hospice. After all, when Bella Care Hospice is involved with people, the quote we hear most often is “I wish that we had learned about this sooner.”

When death is in sight, there are two options: submit without hope or live life as fully as ever until the end. The gift of hospice is its capacity to help families see how much can be shared at the end of life through personal and spiritual connections often left behind. It is no wonder that many family members can look back upon their hospice experience with gratitude, and with the knowledge that everything possible was done towards a peaceful death.

A few weeks ago, the Bella Care Columbus Team had the honor of helping make a very special wish come true. 💛

Thirty years ago, David began planting daffodils across his property. Recently, he shared with our team how much it would mean to see them in bloom one more time—and we were able to take him there. 🌼

David shared so much with us about the beautiful land. He pointed out the apple trees he planted nearby, even telling us that he developed his own variety called “Dave’s Delight.”

We also learned that the peaceful pond on the property was entirely man-made, with David shaping the island by hand.

At his request, everyone who joined the visit took home a vase of freshly picked daffodils—a small piece of a place filled with so much meaning.

The day ended in the best way: with David sharing lunch alongside his son.

Moments like these remind us how important it is to honor what matters most. 🌼

Please join us in Congratulating Krystina Lane, Director of Volunteer Services. Krystina was recently promoted to the regional team, but her years of work as the Business Office Manager and Human Resources Designee in the Ashtabula office is what earned her this distinguished award. ⭐️

Krystina was nominated by her peers and her managers. She has incredible work ethic and attention to detail, two characteristics that drove immense success during her role as the business office manager.

We are so excited to see how the volunteer department across Ohio grows with Krystina at the helm.

We bid a fond farewell to one of the best Chaplains to ever grace this company. ✝️

After twelve years of steady presence, gentle guidance, and deep compassion, Greg has retired. Alongside him, as always was, is his wife Geri, who also retired on the same day. ❤️

Greg was a recipient of our coveted ‘Employee of the Year’ award, and we wish him all the best in retirement.

Greg has walked with so many- patients, families, and colleagues - during life’s most tender and vulnerable moments. His words brought comfort when silence felt heavy, and his presence alone often said more than anything that could be spoken.

Retirement feels like too small a word for the legacy he leaves behind. The lives he’s touched, the burdens he has helped carry, and the peace he helped create will be with us long after his departure from his career.

While we will deeply miss his wisdom and calm, we are excited for the adventures he has planned in the future!
