Our community dove headfirst into the world of sourdough this week. We learned the science of feeding the starter and the art of shaping the perfect traditional loaf. It’s never too late to master a new skill (or enjoy the delicious results).

When Lillian, Shirley, Iris, and Betsy get together in the kitchen, magic happens. This past weekend, they took complete control of our holiday baking event, sharing a lifetime of tips and tricks to create a brand new signature sugar cookie recipe.

Watching them laugh, debate the safety of eating raw cookie dough (spoiler: they were very convincing!), and bond over baking was a joy. And the cookies? They were so good that none made it out of the room. Sorry, neighbors!

Even in the wintertime, our residents know how to keep things blooming. Our monthly floral arranging class is a favorite for a reason:it’s therapeutic, creative, and beautiful.

Resident Judy Joseph put it perfectly: "Flower arranging is the perfect way to start my month. It brings a light, smell, and a sense of life to my apartment that I really appreciate."

The holiday spirit is alive and well in our Memory Care neighborhood! This year, our residents took the lead on the tree decor, choosing a "bright and colorful" theme that perfectly matches their vibrant personalities.

Nothing warms up a cold day like a Midwest chili showdown!
After a lively chili-making class (shoutout to our newly formed Chili Divas), we welcomed our local fire chief and fire deputy to help crown the winner.

There were jokes, recipes, taste tests, and a whole lot of community spirit.

And the winners? The Chili Divas, of course! 🌶️🏆
