Art and creative expression play a vital role in supporting seniors’ mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. Engaging in creative activities like painting or crafting helps stimulate the brain, reduce stress, and boost mood. It also encourages self-expression, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment. Most importantly, it brings joy, connection, and purpose—no matter the age.

This week’s craft session brought out a wonderfully creative side of our residents as they explored the art of Button Painting! With jars of colorful buttons and a few inspiration photos to spark ideas, each person took their own unique path—resulting in some truly one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

The final pieces were delightfully abstract, full of character, and a beautiful reflection of the individuality and imagination of each artist. It’s always such a joy to see how expressive and fun crafting can be—especially when shared in great company. 💛

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming some very special guests from Cherrington Elementary School, who chose to spend their afternoon with us—and what an unforgettable time we had! 🥰

Our residents were all smiles as they played games, shared stories, read books together, and most importantly, filled the room with laughter, love, and connection. It was a beautiful reminder of the joy that comes when generations come together.

As a heartfelt surprise, the students also created and gifted us with their own Georgia O’Keeffe-inspired paintings—each one a colorful, thoughtful masterpiece that now brightens our space and our hearts. 🎨🌸

A huge thank you to these amazing young artists and their teachers for making the day so meaningful. We’re already looking forward to the next visit!

We had such a wonderful time celebrating the amazing mothers in our lives at our Mother’s Day Mimosas for Moms event! 💛 Thank you to everyone who joined us for a morning full of laughter, heartfelt conversations, and the joy of community.

From freshly baked muffins and pastries to our delightful mimosa bar featuring a variety of juices 🍊🍍🍓, it was a beautiful way to honor and toast the incredible women who shape our world every day.

It was truly special to see women from all walks of life come together to connect, celebrate, and uplift one another. Here’s to all the moms—past, present, and future—you are loved, appreciated, and absolutely cherished.

🌸🌱 Garden Club is back and blooming at Danbury Westerville! 🌱🌸

Last week, our residents came together to pick what we’ll be growing this year, and we’ve already started planting the seeds. 🌿🌷 It’s always exciting to see everyone’s green thumbs at work as we dream of sunny days ahead.

Though it still feels like winter out there❄️, we’re planting with hope and patience, knowing that warmer weather has to show up eventually, right?! 🤞🌞

We can't wait to watch these little sprouts grow into something beautiful – just like the community we have here. 🌻🥕🌸

March 27th marked an exciting day as we kicked off Major League Baseball’s Opening Day in style here at Danbury Westerville! Our very own Executive Director, Chris, brought the game day fun to life by tossing bags of peanuts, popcorn, and Cracker Jacks to our eager residents during lunch. 🍿🥜🌭

The atmosphere was full of excitement, laughter, and a little bit of that classic ballpark magic. It was the perfect way to bring the community together to celebrate America's favorite pastime. Here's to a season full of home runs, good times, and great memories! ⚾️💙
