Sanand Parikh is my best friend’s husband. He is like family to me and has been diagnosed with a brainstem tumor. Life lately has felt unreal as I watch their family fight through this horrible diagnosis. I told him he is already a miracle - the tumor is so rare that there is not much research and it is not possible to operate. Even though life is tough and dark right now this man can still light up a room with his positive vibes and make everyone laugh as if we were all sitting around watching football and joking with each other, only right now, it’s from a hospital bed. The neurological symptoms have become severe and he fighting every minute, everyday. He is stronger than the strongest men I know and brings out a fierce strength inside of myself that I did not know existed. I thank him for showing me a real life living miracle, I thank him for showing me that laughter can still exist through all the tears, and I thank him for never giving up and fighting. A gofundme has been set up by his close friends to help him with medical expenses and financial loss during this time. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts.

Arm/shoulder day! Smartest thing you can do is listen to your body and take care of issues as soon as possible. If you want to hit the gym or play sports hard you have to protect your body so you can continue to push yourself. Attended the ASNY Banquet 2025 and met up with my Beijing Travel buddies from my 2009 trip!!! Cannot believe how long it had been since I saw them in person. Snapped some photos with Tom, owner of Kamwo in Chinatown NYC and recently featured in NY Times. Thank you to ASNY for throwing a great dinner event and great hanging out with the ASNY board members Anna, Beth, and Amy. Finally I am really enjoying the community and connection the NJAS has shown by getting involved, showing up and raising great discussions. I am proud to say anticipate on the NJAS board of directors and spend my time with these people trying to solve all of NJ’s acupuncture problems.

Was part of the ASA council meeting representing yesterday and able to meet with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine state association reps from all over the country. It was so great to meet with everyone in person and share experiences with legislation, treatment and healthcare from across the nation. What an amazing experience!
