One of the most common questions we get from new clients is: “Does acupuncture hurt?”
The short answer? No—not in the way you might think.
Most people are surprised by how gentle and relaxing the experience is.
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin—about the width of a human hair. They’re nothing like the needles used for injections or blood draws. Many patients don’t feel the needles at all, while others might notice a slight pinch or a warm, tingly sensation.
Once the needles are in place, you may feel deeply relaxed, even sleepy. Some people describe it as a “reset” for their nervous system.
If you're nervous about trying acupuncture, you're not alone—and we’re happy to talk you through every step. Your comfort is always our priority.
