✨ The ubiquitous Julie Lanza, CPhT-Adv, CSPT, CPTEd, FMSHP ✨

Yesterday she stood alongside Senator Ed Markey and Rep. Katherine Clark to push for ECAPS and PBM reform on Capitol Hill.

📌 H4332 = Massachusetts’ ECAPS bill
📌 S.3012 = our first step toward PBM reform

Julie made sure Congress heard:
💬 ECAPS matters.
💬 PBM reform matters.
💬 Fair reimbursement matters.

She’s turning Massachusetts advocacy into national action 💪

🚨 Legislative Update for Massachusetts Pharmacists 🚨

H1091 is now H4332!

We’re thrilled to announce that “An Act Relative to Pharmacists as Healthcare Providers” has officially progressed—receiving a favorable report from the Joint Committee on Financial Services and advancing to the Joint Committee on Healthcare Financing with a new bill number: H4332.

This is an important milestone for the pharmacy profession in Massachusetts—and a reflection of our collective advocacy efforts, especially through our MSHP members!

🩺 Why this bill matters:
• It recognizes pharmacists as healthcare providers under state law—unlocking reimbursement pathways for clinical services already being delivered every day.
• It enhances access to care in underserved communities by leveraging the most accessible healthcare professionals: pharmacists.
• It strengthens the interdisciplinary team model, allowing pharmacists to fully participate in value-based care initiatives.
• It enables health systems and outpatient clinics to build sustainable, scalable pharmacy-based services—from chronic disease management to transitions of care.
• It empowers future generations of pharmacists to practice at the top of their license and meet evolving patient needs.

📣 To all our colleagues, preceptors, residents, students, and pharmacy leaders: now is the time to amplify our voice. Get your stories of pharmacist impact ready. We're going to need your help to support H4332.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on the bill’s progress and opportunities to engage. Thank you for standing with us as we advocate for a healthier, more accessible Massachusetts.
