Licensed massage therapists do far more than rub muscles. We are trained healthcare professionals who dedicate ourselves to the healing and well-being of others. Our scope of practice includes not just relaxation, but therapeutic and medical massage that addresses chronic pain, limited mobility, postural imbalances, anxiety, insomnia, and even trauma held deep in the body. Each session requires focus, skill, and an immense amount of energy…physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Massage therapy is not just a job…it’s a calling. We listen with our hands, attune to the body’s cues, and tailor every touch to help restore balance. Recently, I heard a rabbi speak about the challenges of living in an overstimulating world. He described how our senses are constantly bombarded by noise, distractions, and endless chatter. His words deeply resonated with me, as someone who values peace and quiet.

For those of us who crave calm, being in over-stimulating environments can feel like too much to bear. Loud conversations, constant music, and nonstop activity can leave us drained and overwhelmed. That’s why I’ve found my calling as a massage therapist—where I can offer and share the serenity I need.

In my practice, I create a peaceful environment with calming music, intentional touch, and space to simply breathe. It’s a gift to my clients, and also to myself, to escape the noise and find moments of stillness.

If, like me, you feel overwhelmed by the chaos of the world, the rabbi’s advice was simple: honor the quiet. Seek spaces and practices that restore your sense of calm. Whether it’s through prayer, meditation, nature, or nurturing self-care like massage, peace is always within reach when we create space for it.

So this happened on Friday. I was on my way going West on Frowien Rd. On my way to visit my friend…I looked to my right and a saw a young man struggling with a few Lidl grocery bags clearly filled to the top with bread and other items spilling over. I can see that he’s was struggling, dropping the bags for a rest, then picking up again.

Something in my head said, STOP turn around, so I did just that. I pull over to the side of the road rolled down my window and I asked him “ do you need any help or a ride home”? He looked at me with relief in his eyes and said “yes, thank you so much”. He was clearly taken aback that I would stop and go out of my way to help him. He put the bags in the back of my car and said “ wow this is a beautiful car I don’t want to get it dirty while wiping grass cuttings off the bottom of the bags. I assured him “don’t worry about that, that can be vacuumed up”.

So it was a quick conversation, I asked him where he lived and I shared with him that I grew up in CM. He told me where he was from and said that he was living in a Shelter nearby and that his family lost their house.

I don’t want to say too much more since I want to respect this man’s privacy. He shared that he was in need of a job. So anyone out there willing to take a chance and hire him private message me. I know nothing really about this person, I did look up his name and it checked out where he used to live….but that’s it. He mentions he had experience in concrete etc.

I know this sounds crazy but maybe he was just hard on his luck and needs a chance. We need more understanding and kindness in this world.💜 Much Love, Grace
