Thank you, Hospice Social Workers!

During Social Work Month, East End Hospice proudly recognizes the extraordinary members of our team who listen with their whole hearts, seek balance in life’s most delicate moments, and tirelessly advocate for the best possible outcomes for our patients and families.

Social Workers connect families with vital resources, guide them through complex decisions, and create safe spaces where difficult stories can be shared and honored.

Your work is essential. Your impact is profound. And your dedication is truly transformative.

Help us celebrate our incredible hospice social workers by sharing a message of appreciation in the comments.

“The day my father signed up for hospice, he said he felt like he had “won the lottery”. An odd claim from a terminally ill man- but it was also true. As my dad’s caregiver, I, too, won that lottery. The help and support we received from East End Hospice in the final weeks of Dad’s life were amazing.”

Hospice isn’t about giving up. It’s about comfort, humanity, and making every moment count.

If you or someone you love needs support, don’t wait. Learn more about hospice care and the incredible difference it can make.

🌟 BIG NEWS! 🌟
East End Hospice has been named a 2025–2026 grantee of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation!

With their generous support, East End Hospice can continue to provide peaceful, patient-centered care at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care, despite reductions to Medicare funding.

We are deeply grateful to the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation team and look forward to sharing the impact we’re making together. 💜

🚨➡️🤍 A First in New York State

Suffolk County Community College paramedic students are now training at East End Hospice’s Kanas Center for Hospice Care as part of New York State’s first-ever hospice clinical rotation for EMS students—gaining vital skills in end-of-life care, patient advocacy, and family support.

This groundbreaking experience provides future paramedics with hands-on training in end-of-life care, hospice philosophy, symptom management, and understanding MOLST, DNRs, and other directives, preparing them for real-world situations they will encounter.

A powerful collaboration. A meaningful step forward. 💙💚

FAQ Friday:

Question: Is hospice a place people go at the end of life?
Answer: Hospice is a philosophy of care — provided wherever you call home.

At East End Hospice, we bring compassionate care and support to people wherever they call home — in homes, hospitals, senior living communities, nursing facilities, and at our Kanas Center for Hospice Care — when it matters most.
