The polyvagel theory discusses what our automatic nervous system (ANS) does in different states. The immobilized state is where we struggle with having energy. The mobilized state is where we may experience more anxiety. The diagram below describes a few parts of each state. It can helpful to pay attention to which state we're in and get support as needed through utilizing coping skills or reaching out to a professional if the mobilized or immobilized state is where you reside more often.

Today I wanted to post a personal story to help others know a little more about me. I love working with any population but I have a special place in my heart for working with adolescents. When I was an adolescent I saw a therapist who helped inspire me to pursue this career. I wanted to help others just like she did for me. Today I'm working in a career I love and my hope is to help clients to be empowered in their lives. I want to help clients be inspired to make changes to improve their lives. It is never a bad thing to seek help. Going to a therapist I believe shows strength because it takes courage to be vulnerable and share your life story with someone. Hope everyone has a great Monday!
