Birth is one of the most transformative experiences a human can have. You don’t just go through it — you’re changed by it. And just like any profound journey, how you prepare shapes everything about how you come through on the other side.
That’s why I work with mamas-to-be on the inner preparation — nervous system regulation, mindset, somatic work, ancestral healing — whether you’re birthing in a hospital, a birth center, or at home.
I wrote about what the research says and why therapy fits so naturally into birth preparation.

You've probably heard some version of "just stay positive" when it comes to birth preparation. Maybe you've been handed a list of breathing exercises or told to make a birth plan. And while those things have their place, the research tells a more layered, more honest story: the way you pre

Some things take root slowly. Growth, healing, starting over — none of it happens on a timeline you can force.

Guilt and shame can feel like the same thing, but they’re not.

Guilt says “I did something that goes against my values.” It points at a behavior. It can actually move us forward.

Shame says “I am the problem.” It collapses us inward. It keeps us frozen, spinning in self-criticism, unable to access the parts of us that know how to do better.

Here’s what I know to be true: you cannot shame yourself into change. Real, lasting change comes from a place of self-compassion — not as a reward for being perfect, but as the very thing that gives your nervous system enough safety to look honestly at where you’ve been and choose differently.

Softening toward yourself isn’t weakness. It’s actually what makes growth possible. You don’t have to earn the right to begin again.

Save this for the next time shame tries to convince you that you’re too far gone. 🩵

For the sensitive parents with sensitive kids, this one’s for you 🩵

You didn't imagine it. Your child really does feel more — and that changes everything about how you parent. If you've ever watched your child dissolve into tears over a sock seam, spend an hour locked in worry before a birthday party, or come home from school so depleted that dinner becomes impos

Whose anxiety needs to hear this today? 🙋🏻‍♀️For the overachievers, perfectionists, and chronic rushers: give yourself permission to take your time.

It’s helpful to slow down and question the urgency. A fun exploration to get to the bottom of it is asking: what’s the worst that could happen if I slow down? And if that happens then what. And if that happens then what. All the way down to the basic fear. It often has nothing to do with the original thing.

Another helpful tool is identifying your core values. Not goals, but the values underneath. As if you were looking back on your life at the end, what would have been most important to you? And then adjusting your priorities based on those visions for yourself.

Some things can’t be rushed, and they unfold in their own time.

These are all paths we can go down in a therapy session.

Follow along for more mental health tips. And like, comment, share, & save— your engagement means so much to a small business!

We have been taught that good parenting looks like compartmentalizing kid’s activities from every day life tasks. But children learn by being included in real life. Even when that means it takes longer and makes more of a mess.

Kids don’t need perfect. And neither do you. What we need is presence, regulation, connection, and repair when we mess up. Because we all do. And our kids learn more from how we repair than anything else.

When we release the ‘shoulds’ and the ‘what if’s’ of perfectionism, replace judgements and comparisons with compassion and presence, then we can build our inner confidence and intuition. And a mother’s intuition is a timeless tool.

Here’s a permission slip to embrace the imperfectness of parenthood and listen to your inner guidance.

Save this for a day when motherhood feels especially messy.

Becoming a mother is the biggest identity shift you will ever experience.

And yet, we’re often expected to navigate it behind a “business as usual” mask. We talk about the baby’s milestones, but rarely about the mother’s metamorphosis.

If you’ve been feeling disoriented, raw, or like your old life simply doesn’t fit anymore, please know: This is not a crisis. This is matrescence.

It’s the shedding of one skin to grow into another. It’s messy, it’s loud, and it’s deeply sacred work. When we give this process a name, we take away its power to make us feel “less than” and start seeing the power in who we are becoming.

I’ve put together a guide on my blog to help you navigate this transition with more self-compassion and less self-doubt.

If parenting feels like more than it should — not because you don’t love your kids, but because your nervous system takes in everything — this one’s for you.

The noise, the constant emotional tracking, the interrupted sleep, the never-enough recovery time. For highly sensitive parents, what looks like normal parenting stress from the outside can feel like a tidal wave from the inside.

HSP parents don’t burn out because they’re weak or doing it wrong. They burn out because they’ve been running without enough space to regulate. That’s different. And it changes what kind of support actually helps.

I wrote a full post on overstimulation, burnout, and what somatic therapy looks like for a nervous system like yours — link in bio, then head to the blog.

When a woman is doing well, everything around her flourishes. When a mother is well, her children are well. And when the children are well, that is a sign that society is well.

Does this mean I’m against men? Not at all! Men deserve healing too and the world needs men whole and present.

And this is not only for the moms. I support women through all of life’s seasons. Because everyone is a vital part of our community.

I’ve been a therapist for 10 years, and women’s mental health is my passion. Because when she’s okay, everything around her has a better shot at being okay too.

Sometimes it’s the simple tools that work best. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths. Say kind words to yourself. Notice how your body reorganizes and your system knows what it needs next. Repeat as often as necessary.
