There is a solution for every problem. I still believe that in all my years of working with clients, even clients who had been living with pain for years.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: healing happens when we look beyond the pain at the full story of your body. 🙌

When you’re trying to accomplish a goal, whether it’s weight loss, healing, or building strength, it won’t last without making permanent changes to your habits.

If you look at losing weight as a temporary change you have to make, your old habits will creep up and pull you back.

We can only sustain change through building a new way of living life each day.

There’s nothing better than moving your body outdoors under the summer sun. Vitamin D supports your immune system and brain health, but the summer heat can cause heatstroke if you’re not careful.

So, before you go outside this season, make sure you:
✅ Exercise during the coolest parts of the day
✅ Stay hydrated
✅ Use sun protection
✅ Know the warning signs of heatstroke (nausea, dizziness, throbbing headache)

Your health should never be the cost of a good workout. Stay safe this summer, and let’s keep you strong and thriving all season long.

This is exactly why I use my Whole-Body Approach. The truth is, where we feel pain is rarely where the issue is.

I used to be a young athlete, and I had my fair share of injuries that saw me in and out of different clinics and physical therapy offices. I never really got the results I wanted or needed. 🤨

I knew there had to be a better solution, so I started studying physical therapy and working in sports medicine. 💡 That's when it hit me: treating the pain alone wasn't enough. The body is completely interconnected, so our healing should be too!

That's what led me to develop my Whole-Body Approach. When I work with someone, I look beyond their symptoms to find out what's actually causing their pain.

Bone health isn’t just about calcium. Your ability to absorb nutrients like iron and calcium can make or break your strength, and small choices have big effects.

I recently worked with a woman in her 30s who was struggling with low iron. Her other doctors went straight to iron transfusions…without asking why her body couldn’t absorb it.

When I found out she was taking antacids for heartburn, the answer was clear. We adjusted her plan; no infusions needed.

So, as you enjoy this day, take a moment to think about how you’re leading by example. Are you taking care of your body and your mind?

Every choice, from how you manage stress to how you move your body each day, shows your kids how to navigate their own lives.

I encourage you to keep investing in yourself, for your family, and yourself. Here’s to a day of celebrating the work you do as a father and advocating for your continued health. 💪

The Whole Body Approach to Pain Free Living

Dan Kinney has dedicated his life to health, well-being, maximizing one’s potential and helping others. His extensive studies have included graduating from Northwestern University Physical Therapy program, IPEC Institute for Professional Excellence Life, Wellbeing and Performance coaching programs, and the Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coach program.​

As a physical therapist, health and life coach, Dan brings 40+ years of experience working with a variety of clients from the professional, Olympic, college and high school athletes to the chronic condition clients. Dan has created a very unique, one of a kind, approach that has helped many people overcome their condition. Dan prides himself with the client that was recommended surgery, or the person that has tried other forms of therapies without resolve or the athlete trying to overcome their nagging injury and not getting resolve.​

Personal experience of trauma, illness and injury including mercury poisoning that was undiagnosed for years, motor vehicle accident resulting in back and leg pain, ACL tear and a fractured hip, has contributed to Dan’s understanding and commitment to the healing process and helping others.​

All of these experiences have led to the formula of overcoming dysfunction, achieving good health and moving toward optimal well-being.
