When we work together, I give you a personalized program with videos and tools you can carry into your daily life from here on out.

Because there’s always one thing I want my clients to understand: Just because your insurance or physical therapy is done, doesn’t mean your progress is.

We can always progress. We can always make choices that better support our health. 🙌

Even if you feel like you’re healed or pain-free, ask yourself: What am I doing to keep moving forward? How am I maintaining my health?

If you’ve “graduated” from physical therapy, but still feel like there’s more healing or growth ahead, I’d love to help you get there.

Reach out to me, and let’s build a healthier, happier you! 🧡

Where you feel pain may not be where the problem is. That’s always the first thing I tell my clients.

Too often, traditional care only focuses on the area that hurts, and, just as often, the pain returns. 🤔

Recently, I worked with a woman who’d been dealing with chronic neck and low back pain. Every provider and treatment only focused on those areas, but the pain wouldn’t go away.

Well, I used my Whole Body Approach and found her problem was actually in the pelvis and rib cage. Once we addressed those areas, her neck and back pain started to go away. 🙌

If you’re living with chronic pain and you’re living in Westlake Village, reach out to me. I’d love to help you understand your body better and heal. 🧡

So often, I get people asking me, “How long?” 🤔 How long will it take to heal? How long do I need to do rehab? How long will I have to do this?

Now, I don’t think there’s ever an easy answer to that question. Your healing isn’t just physical. Your mindset, emotional health, and daily habits will all shape your journey.

But, even beyond that? I don’t really like that question at all. We might never reach a perfect “finish line” because our health isn’t a race; it’s a journey.

In some phases of your journey, you might need to move more, while in others you spend resting.

So instead of chasing a result, enjoy the process. Exist in the moment. Take each day to learn about your body and support your health. 🙌

Did you know October is National Physical Therapy Month? 💪 After more than 40 years in the field, working with everyone from Olympic athletes to people with chronic pain, I’ve learned many things. But one sticks out to me the most: Your body wants to heal.

That’s why I’ve developed my Whole Body Approach. I find and treat the root cause of your pain, not provide band-aid solutions.

I’m here to educate you about how your body works together, from your mindset to your movement, and your nutrition, so you can live happier and healthier than you ever have before.

So this October, ask yourself: What’s your body trying to tell you? And if you need help starting your health journey, reach out to me. I’m here to help. 🧡

Where you feel pain is rarely where the problem is. Pain is actually a messenger, but too often, it’s ignored or silenced with meds and ineffective fixes.

After 25 years of helping people heal, I’ve learned this: your body is always talking. You just need someone who knows how to listen. 👂

When we work together, I promise not to chase the symptoms. I listen to what your body is saying to find the real cause, so you can finally live pain-free.

If chronic pain has left you stuck with temporary fix after temporary fix, let’s talk. There’s a better way to heal. 🧡

FYI

According to research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, walking more than 7,000 steps a day is linked to a significantly lower risk of developing 13 different types of cancer, including breast, colon, liver, kidney, lung, bladder, and endometrial cancers.

According to Study Finds, participants wore activity trackers and were followed for six years. The study found that cancer risk began to drop around 5,000 steps daily, with a 16% reduction observed at 7,000 steps. Beyond 9,000 steps, the benefits plateaued.

Importantly, the protective effect held up even after adjusting for factors like BMI, smoking, and demographics. The researchers noted that step count mattered more than walking speed, meaning even light, casual walking contributed to the reduced risk

There’s a big misconception that you need high-impact workouts that leave you sweaty and sore to see results. But do you want to know the real secret to sustainable, healthy living?

Do a little bit, often. 🙌

Sure, a high-impact exercise might feel productive, but if you can only manage it once a month or risk injury every time, it’s not sustainable.

Low-impact movement that you can do today and for years to come will help you live your happiest, healthiest life.

Walking just 6-9 miles per week can:

▶️ Improve cardiovascular health
▶️ Support a healthy weight
▶️ Strengthen your muscles and bones
▶️ Improve your mental health

So when you’re thinking about movement, don’t look for those big exercises. Find the small, daily actions that keep you strong. 🧡

Your body is with you for life, so you’ve got to treat it like it matters! 🙌 When a 17-year-old came to me with scoliosis and lower back pain, I immediately started with my Whole-Body Approach to find the root cause of the issue.

🔍 Once I pinpointed the issue, I was able to relieve his pain and improve his scoliosis. More importantly, I was able to educate him and give him the tools to stay strong, mobile, and pain-free for years to come.

Most of us were never taught how to take care of our bodies, which is why I focus so much on education and helping you build new routines to practice after you leave my office.

If you’re ready to learn how to keep moving and live pain-free, reach out. I’ll help you understand your body and build a foundation for long-term healing. 💪

Whether you're behind a desk or on your feet all day, your body is always clocked in. This long weekend, hit pause and ask yourself: Are you taking care of your body so it can keep taking care of you?

Chronic pain doesn’t come out of nowhere. It builds up from habits, posture, or stress that we tend to ignore while we’re busy working. Taking the time to introduce foundational exercises, low-impact movement, and stretches can keep your body strong, mobile, and healthy for years to come.

And, of course, don’t forget to have a happy Labor Day! 🧡

The Whole Body Approach to Pain Free Living

Dan Kinney has dedicated his life to health, well-being, maximizing one’s potential and helping others. His extensive studies have included graduating from Northwestern University Physical Therapy program, IPEC Institute for Professional Excellence Life, Wellbeing and Performance coaching programs, and the Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coach program.

As a physical therapist, health and life coach, Dan brings 40+ years of experience working with a variety of clients from the professional, Olympic, college and high school athletes to the chronic condition clients. Dan has created a very unique, one of a kind, approach that has helped many people overcome their condition. Dan prides himself with the client that was recommended surgery, or the person that has tried other forms of therapies without resolve or the athlete trying to overcome their nagging injury and not getting resolve.

Personal experience of trauma, illness and injury including mercury poisoning that was undiagnosed for years, motor vehicle accident resulting in back and leg pain, ACL tear and a fractured hip, has contributed to Dan’s understanding and commitment to the healing process and helping others.

All of these experiences have led to the formula of overcoming dysfunction, achieving good health and moving toward optimal well-being.
