Today we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the grand opening of the new Jean-Wilfrid Albert Clinic. Since then, we have added 2 lab techs to run the new lab, a computer technician to help with patient care and documentation, as well as a water purification project including a water cistern. In 2026, we are looking to bring even more medical care into the remote mountains of Haiti. And, we will celebrate 20 years of continual operation.

A beautiful year for the Jean-Wilfrid Albert Clinic. Well-trained village midwives gather for continuing medical education by our clinic midwife as well as to celebrate healthy babies born in Haiti.

Even though Haiti was not in the direct path of the hurricane, reports from the staff are of scary winds and severe storms. Crops have been washed away, trees down and roads severely damaged. Our clinic serves as a place of safety and shelter. Please continue to pray for all of those in the path and aftermath of this devastating hurricane

Our staff takes our mobile unit to treat patients in villages too far away to come to our clinic. Today they treated 113 patients and were able to distribute much needed medications.

Saturday, January 25, 2025 is a milestone for HHP. Our new Jean-Wilfrid Albert medical clinic opens in the village of Cherident.

The new clinic has an ample solar-powered electrical system. This is huge! After 18 years of making do in a small building, the staff of 12 now has its first-ever laboratory for bloodwork and urinalysis, as well as after-hours lighting.

We are so grateful for so many things this holiday season--we are weeks away from opening our first real clinic building after 18 years of treating patients in a small, rudimentary space. We are thankful to those who have helped make this happen--we now have a 2600 sq foot clinic, full security wall, solar electricity and running water. We will soon have a fully functional lab. New furniture has been built by a local artisan and new clinic beds have been donated--there are some additional supplies we hope to purchase soon (oxygen tank/blenders, bassinets for new babies, scales, more medications). We have a dedicated all-Haitian staff who treat over 1,000 patients a month, and they cannot wait to move into their new space.
