If you’ve been considering increasing your therapy sessions lately or getting back into therapy, you’re not alone. The shift in seasons brings a lot, colder weather, shorter days, and heavier emotions. The world is heavy right now. Your nervous system is feeling it all.

Needing more support doesn’t mean you’re “falling behind.” It means you’re tuning in. Therapy isn’t just for crisis, it’s for regular maintenance, nervous system care, and giving yourself a dedicated space to stay grounded when everything else feels up in the air.

Some seasons call for a little extra softness, a bit more support, and more frequent check-ins. This is one of those seasons. 💙 We have appointments available right away. Visit our website or call us to get scheduled today.

That post-EMDR tired hits different. 🫶
If you’ve ever left a session feeling extra sleepy, foggy, or ready for a nap, you’re not doing wrong. asks your brain and nervous system to do some deep processing, and that work takes energy.

Feeling tired afterward can be a sign your mind and body are integrating and healing. Rest is not optional here, it’s part of the process.

At Strive, our EMDR therapists help you move at a pace that feels safe and supportive, and we’ll always remind you to be gentle with yourself after sessions.

What if you don’t have memories to work with in EMDR? 🤔

That’s actually very common and it does not mean won’t work for you.

EMDR does not require clear memories, detailed stories, or knowing exactly where something came from. We can start with what is showing up now. A body sensation. A belief like “something feels off.” A strong emotional reaction you can’t explain. Even a sense of numbness.

Your nervous system remembers what your mind may not. EMDR works by helping the brain process what has been stored implicitly through emotions, sensations, and patterns, not just explicit memories. As processing unfolds, insight often comes later or sometimes not at all and that is okay. Relief and regulation can still happen.

If you’ve ever thought “I don’t remember anything, so won’t work for me,” EMDR may actually be a gentle place to begin.

Not everyone deserves front-row access to your energy.
One of the most overlooked mental health skills is noticing who leaves you feeling supported and who leaves you depleted. The people you surround yourself with directly impact your nervous system, your mood, and your capacity to cope. 👏👏

This week’s Therapist Tip Tuesday from Amy is a reminder to choose connection that restores you, not drains you. And if that feels hard or unfamiliar, therapy can help you unpack why and practice healthier boundaries in real time.

If you’re ready to build relationships that feel safer, steadier, and more supportive, we’re here to help. looking for more info? Send us a quick DM or visit our website today!

If you’ve tried medication after medication and still feel stuck, numb, or exhausted from the cycle, this might be worth a closer look.

Spravato is a different kind of treatment for severe or treatment-resistant depression. It works on different brain pathways than traditional antidepressants and can bring relief faster for some people. For many, that means fewer intrusive thoughts, more emotional steadiness, and a sense that the fog finally starts to lift.

This isn’t about “just trying harder” or pushing through. It’s about having another option when what you’ve already tried hasn’t been enough.

If you’re wondering whether Spravato could be a fit for you, our team at Strive is here to walk you through it and answer your questions with care and honesty.

Even the Grinch had boundaries and honestly he was onto something. 🎄

As Christmas Eve gatherings begin, it is okay to protect your peace.
You do not have to stay longer than you want.
You do not have to engage in conversations that steal your joy.
You do not have to force cheer if your heart needs something quieter.

Setting boundaries does not make you the Grinch.
It makes you self aware.

This holiday season, choose rest, honesty, and a little extra compassion for yourself.

Our therapist Kimmi has a special holiday for you today! 👇

The holidays can bring connection, warmth, and meaning—but they can also activate stress, old family dynamics, and pressure to show up in ways that don’t feel sustainable. Boundaries during the holiday season might look different than the rest of the year, and that’s okay.

A boundary can sound like:
• “I’m not comfortable talking about that.”
• “We’ll stop by for a short visit.”
• “I need to take a break.”
• “This year, I’m doing things differently.”

Setting boundaries doesn’t mean you’re cold, ungrateful, or dramatic. It means you’re paying attention to your limits, your nervous system, and your emotional well-being.

This season, consider asking yourself:
“What do I need in order to feel regulated, present, and safe?”

That answer matters.
