This is a wonderful resource! Most kids respond better to visuals like this than just asking them to take deep breaths. Us adults may benefit with all of these snow days too! 😅 Stay warm everyone!

Another in our series of calming strategies you can print off and use at home or school.

Hot Chocolate Breathing is a simple way to help a child slow their breathing when they’re feeling worried, overwhelmed, or full of big feelings. It works by gently switching the body into “safe and settled” mode, so the brain can think more clearly again. Try it in calm moments first, then it’ll feel familiar when emotions run high.

Crossing the midline of the brain is an important foundation for coordination and future motor skills. Cross-crawl activities help babies develop body awareness and coordination while encouraging both sides of the brain to work together. When therapy feels like play, babies are more likely to engage!
