The faith of our brother Dr. Lamar Hardwick, has become sight.
“We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14 (CSB)
Please join us in praying for Lamar’s wife, children, family, and friends as they walk through this profound loss.
One of the many things Lamar reminded us during his final sermon at the Disability & the Church Conference was:
“When life isn’t going the way you expected, look for where God is still at work — especially among those society sidelines.”
Today we grieve. But we do not grieve without hope. Because of Christ, death does not have the final word.
The Savior, Christ Jesus our Lord, whom Lamar faithfully proclaimed throughout his life and ministry, has now welcomed him home:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
Until that day when faith becomes sight for all who belong to Christ.
