About 23% of people quit their New Year’s resolutions in the first week. It’s not a motivation issue, it could be a support and expectations issue.

Dr. Andrea Rodgers, Director of Development at Hegira Health, recently shared with WDIV Local 4 / ClickOnDetroit that real change happens when we don’t go it alone and when we remember that discipline is a muscle built over time, not overnight.

Ending 2025 with gratitude. Thank you to our partners who help connect people to care.

This year, community feedback highlighted key areas: SUD services and treatment, crisis intervention, and youth-specific programs.
We expanded access in each, with 28% growth in youth served (under age 18), increased youth crisis care through Mobile Crisis & Behavioral Health Urgent Care, and more people served through Oakdale Recovery Center.

A person served shared, “Thank you for traveling down my road of recovery with me…we can do this together.”

Mental health work is meaningful—but it can also be demanding. Across the country, behavioral health professionals report high levels of stress and burnout, making connection, appreciation, and support more important than ever.

At Hegira Health, we believe caring for our community starts with caring for our team.
Our Winter Wonderland All-Staff Party was a joyful pause to celebrate the dedication, resilience, and heart our team brings to their work every day. It was an opportunity to reconnect, recharge, and remind one another that none of us does this work alone.

By investing in our staff, we strengthen our ability to show up for clients, families, and communities with compassion and excellence—today and all year long.

Thank you, Team Hegira Health, for being the solution.

By bringing families, staff, and community partners together, we help ease isolation, nurture resilience, and open doors to hope and healing.

Moments like these remind us that mental wellness grows in the community, and we’re honored to walk alongside the families we serve all year long.

This time of year is full of celebrations but it can also be a time when stress, loneliness, and social pressure can make alcohol use more intense for a lot of people. In fact, according to a survey by The Addiction Center, 29% of people report drinking more during the holidays.

Hegira Health Senior Director of Substance Use Disorders Salvatore Russo joined Priya Mann and Jason S. Smith in the WDIV Local 4 / ClickOnDetroit studios yesterday to discuss breaking down the challenges many face with alcohol use over the holidays. Sal shared strategies for support and recovery, including finding the root cause for drinking, being open about your decision not to drink, and when to seek professional support.
