The garden here at our community has been a success!

With growing plants and growing connections, our Garden Group and Life Enrichment team joined green thumbs and curated a flourishing space!

Here’s Ms. Viera showing off her daily harvest on Sunday! Gardening outside is almost coming to an end, but we’ve had an amazing turn-out with all of our plants with the help and lovely advice from our wonderful residents!

Viera has been such wonderful help and enjoys watering our garden each morning and afternoon, we can’t thank her enough for all she does around here at the Terraces at Westminster!

For this week’s , we’re shining a light on one of the amazing twins, Ms. Jane Purdie!

Ms. Jane is from and moved to the Terraces at Westminster about a month ago with her twin, Jean! The two are such a bundle of joy to be around. Whether it’s a quick joke, conversation or a hello, you can always find this lady laughing and having a good time! She hasn’t lived with her other half since they were younger and is happy that now they both call our community home!

She’s been venturing out to check out the community whether they are enjoying meals with their friends, hanging out in their favorite activities or on our lovely patio!

When you see Jane, say hi, but don’t let her fool you into thinking she’s Jean (they are good at those tricks they play!)! We love having Jean around and are excited to see they are adjusting to the Terraces at Westminster very well!

For yesterday's , our residents crafted the most gorgeous jewelry with our snap-it beads that are way more accessible to them!

Bracelet making is great for our residents as it boosts creativity, fine motor skills, and provides a sense of accomplishment!

This week, we would love to shine the Spotlight on our fabulous, Life Enrichment Assistant, Ella Kyker!

Ella joined our team in February and has been nothing but a great asset to the team! Ella’s main focus is providing activities for our Memory Care Unit. She has a creative way of getting the residents to participate and engage in activities which we love so much! She’s very passionate and all the residents love Ella!

When asked what she loves best about working at the Terraces at Westminster, she replied with, “I enjoy spending time with the residents and building connections amongst them all. I feel like our team makes me feel right at home, I’m glad to be a part of the Terraces at Westminster.”

"Given all the times I sat down to write a letter of recommendation, or to commend someone’s service, or draw attention to a less positive experience; never have I written within hours of those experiences. Until now. It is because never have I felt as deeply moved as I was left feeling today. Alan’s mother, Mrs. Mary Armiger, became a resident today. In the days before her arrival, you were professional, excellent communicators, always warm, and welcoming. You saw to every detail so that our “first day” would be a positive experience. You exceeded every one of our expectations.

I knew we had made the absolute right decision for our family in the first few minutes. Allie and Tina greeted us and were full of smiles and warmth. The turning point for came immediately when Tina explained that she was going to transfer to her new wheelchair. Mrs. Armiger asked Tina, “And how are you going to do that?” Tina’s response was one simple word that brought an ear-to-ear smile and laughter, “Magic.” I knew we were in the right place.

We were then shown to her room and met Brandi and Lacey, who conducted an initial assessment with kindness and professionalism. They put everyone at ease, and this is when I was brought to tears in the emotional knowledge that this staff, knows and cares deeply for every resident in their charge.

We would also like to acknowledge Darrin for his work on the room, Angie who helped by answering questions and everything else. Everyone made us feel better than we have felt in a very long time and made our ride home one of ease and confidence that Mrs. Armiger will be well cared for.

While the words, “Thank you” are entirely inadequate, until we can invent better, we offer our deepest gratitude and thank you for being who you are as individuals, and part of our newly extended family."

Connection has no age!

Our intergenerational summer camp kicked off this week and is already filled with laughter, learning, and new friendships! A few of our young campers spent the day with our residents making bracelets, ceramic painting, and enjoying .

We also hosted a successful Cat Adoption Event with the Carroll County Humane Societyy and Mason-Dixon Restoration!
