March 20th the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company will celebrate its 95th year of service to the Pleasant Valley community and surrounding areas. The fire company has a rich history of volunteer service to the community and Carroll County. The fire company began with 30 volunteer members and has been a staple within the community since its inception in 1931. The early volunteers set the standard for the fire company in providing quality service to the community and fundraising to keep the most up to date equipment available. Today’s volunteers continue that tradition with the finest training, most up to date equipment, and countless fundraising activities to provide the funds to purchase the companies fire equipment. As with all fire companies in Carroll County, The Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company is a volunteer organization that continues to provide the best possible service to the citizens of our community.

Last night crews from PVCFC took advantage of the nice weather and trained on stabilization and newly purchased Griphoists. Thank you for your continued support at our events and fundraisers. We invest that money back into the community by purchasing equipment to better serve you in your time of need.

Shortly after training wrapped up PVCFC was alerted for a brush fire in Manchester. A busy night for the Pleasant Valley Volunteers!

Thank you to the members of St. Mary's UCC and all members of the community who invested their time into learning CPR and Stop the Bleed. Our community is safer and better prepared because of YOU!
PVCFC is committed to help everyone be the true First Responders. Be on the lookout for upcoming CPR and Stop the Bleed training with open enrollment for all of our neighbors.

At St. Mary’s UCC, our Safe Church commitment means caring for one another in every way we can. Yesterday, over a dozen members completed CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed training as part of that promise to keep our community safe.

A heartfelt thank‑you to Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company for welcoming us into their training and sharing their expertise!

PVCFC Volunteers spotted at their monthy training. The goal is to raise the ladder above the fire extinguisher without spilling the water balanced on either end of the ladder. This helps bolster equipment familiarization, cribbing techniques, communication, and patience. Plus now we know exactly what to do when encountered with a trapped fire extinguisher out in the real world 😉. A great way to spend a cold and rainy Thursday evening!

After the recent snow storm a crew of 3 CCDFEMS employees and a PVCFC volunteer took to the street in town to clear snow around the fire hydrants. We appreciate the hard work these individuals and their dedication to the residents of the town of Pleasant Valley!

As a reminder to those who live near a fire hydrant, please take some time to clear the snow around the hydrant. In the event of an emergency every second counts.

Around 0530 yesterday morning Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company was alerted for a house fire in the 3500 block of Littlestown Pike. Chief 6 arrived first on scene and reported fire from the 2nd floor. The incident was quickly upgraded to a working fire. Carroll County Volunteers, CCDEFMS staff, and neighboring Pennsylvania Volunteers worked for over 2 hours to extinguish the fire. PVCFC sends it's thanks to the many mutual aid fire departments that came to help as well as our fill-in crews.

Here’s to a happy and healthy new year. Thank you for your continued support in 2026!
