Exercise can be incredibly supportive for sleep, but the timing matters more than people realize.

Some individuals can work out late and sleep just fine, but for many, heavy or intense exercise too close to bedtime keeps the system alert when it needs to be winding down. Your brain and nervous system need time to settle after a big workout, and giving your body that space makes a big difference.

Your body is always coordinating things behind the scenes.

One of my favorite illustrations is this one. Your hypothalamus owns the building and hands the keys to the pituitary every day so it can conduct the orchestra. But when you are tired, rundown, dehydrated, or not eating well, that conductor can barely stand up straight. Everything starts to feel off because nothing is playing together.
