This Mother’s Day, we want to celebrate and honor all of the mothers, caregivers, and supportive figures in our community.

We also recognize that Mother’s Day can bring up many different emotions and experiences. For some, today may feel heavy, complicated, or filled with grief.

At CARE, we want to hold space for those feelings, too. Whatever today looks like for you, we hope you are able to give yourself care, compassion, and grace today.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

Everyone has mental health, and taking care of our emotional well-being is just as important as taking care of our physical health. This month is a reminder to check in with ourselves and each other, practice compassion, and help create supportive communities where people feel safe reaching out for help.

At CARE, we also recognize the connection between mental health and trauma. Experiences of sexual violence can have lasting impacts on a survivor’s emotional well-being, and access to support and resources can play an important role in the healing process.

Today our team wore denim in solidarity with survivors and to take a stand against victim blaming. This day is a powerful reminder that what someone wears is never an excuse for harm.

But this message does not start and end today. Supporting survivors, challenging harmful beliefs, and creating safer spaces is something we can all practice every day.

We are always here. If you or someone you know needs support, CARE is available through our 24/7 Helpline: 410-857-7322
