We’re honored to have been voted Best Non-Profit in Carroll Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards last year, and we would love your support again this year! 💙

This year, CARE Healing Center has been nominated in both the Non-Profit category and the Mental Health Services category. If CARE has made a difference in our community, we would be grateful if you would take a moment to cast your vote for us in the Carroll Magazine Reader’s Choice Awards under both categories.

Your vote helps raise awareness about the services we provide to survivors of sexual assault and supports our mission to create a safer, more compassionate community.

Voting is open now at the link below!

This week, Public Safety subcommittees in both the House and Senate held budget hearings on funding for r**e crisis centers and other victim services. Our Executive Director advocated in Annapolis to oppose cuts to these critical programs.
While Maryland faces difficult budget decisions, survivors need support now more than ever. Rising costs, increased demand for services, federal funding uncertainty, and reduced private funding are creating serious challenges for sexual assault programs. Additional cuts would directly impact the services survivors rely on.
Although this year’s budget proposal includes funding for Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) programs and the R**e Kit Testing Fund, it does not include the $1 million grant for r**e crisis centers or the companion funding for domestic violence programs. Restoring these funds is critical to ensure survivors continue to have access to the resources and support they deserve.
