The history of our practice dates back to 1968. That was the year in which Dr. David P. Mohr opened the first ophthalmology practice in Carroll County. He was dedicated to providing leading-edge solutions for a whole host of vision problems along with the highly personalized care that his patients would truly appreciate. It didn’t take long for Dr. Mohr to become the trusted source of many area do
ctors for their patients’ vision needs. In 1986, Dr. Wayne Barber joined him in his practice. Dr. Mohr retired in 1998, but our team continued to diversify with the addition of Dr. Robert Friedman in 2004. Soon after, our name was changed to Center for Total Eye Care. Our practice has come from humble beginnings, starting with one ophthalmologist and growing into a team of four eye care professionals, two convenient office locations in Carroll County, MD, and a support staff of over 25, including several board-certified opticians. Barber, Friedman, Young and Eaton still follow the same patient-focused practice philosophy that was set forth by Dr. Mohr nearly 50 years ago. We have two locations:
