Working in the child welfare system with families is an opportunity to promote peaceful resolution of family conflicts. Yet child welfare organizations do not have any services (that I am aware of) in place for families to engage in restorative in transformative practices. Instead this system perpetuates an us against them model of when working with families. What would be different if we incorporated restorative practices in child welfare?

Good bye dear Frans. I know its been since March since you passed, but I was thinking about you as I was thinking about the influence you've had on how I conceptualize empathy.
I first read Our Inner Ape in 2005 and have been soaking up your wisdom ever since then.
