❓️What are your company’s services?
Placing Seniors with Families is a new approach to high-quality care provision, helping seniors and families to find each other and live their best lives together. This means living within a family unit with personalized 1:1 care and supporting local families to work from home while teaching their children how to care for others.

When a family contacts us, we complete a free initial consult (30 minutes) to determine whether they can meet basic criteria, such as passing background and credit checks, owning their own home, willingness to make a one year commitment, and can obtain a healthcare provider statement for the primary caregiver(s) to substantiate a health status of the likely ability to care for someone else for at least the next year, and most importantly, we want to know what is behind their desire to include a senior in their household.

If all factors are favorable, we can move forward with a comprehensive assessment to begin to explore what senior might be a good fit for their family, and a family placement agreement will be signed at this time with a small fee to cover the background and credit checks, up to a 1-hour assessment meeting, family profile creation, and advertising.

When a senior contacts us, we also complete a free initial consultation (30 minutes) to substantiate their ability to be a good fit for a family. If we believe the senior is a good family living agreement candidate, we can move forward with a comprehensive assessment including numerous evidence-based tools to begin to search for compatible families. A senior placement agreement will be signed at this time with a small fee to cover any background and credit checks needed, up to a 1-hour assessment meeting, senior profile creation, and advertising.

Once we find a possible match, we contact both parties to inquire about their interest without giving personally identifiable information. If both parties are agreeable to meet, PSWF facilitates an introductory meeting at the family's home. From here, we help to identify additional details to support a solid foundational contract between both parties.

Once both parties have had time to give the living arrangement some thought and consideration, and perhaps some trial days if desired, we recommend consulting an
attorney to review the contract before signing. When both parties are comfortable moving forward, we sit down together for a contract signing meeting and only at this point is when we collect a one-time placement fee for our services equal to the monthly rent/service fee in the contract.

❓️ What is your favorite part of your job? Meeting people and helping others.

❓️ Describe a favorite time that you helped a customer or client?
Years ago, our family was given the opportunity to have a WWII veteran suffering from dementia come live with us. I was hesitant as we had two young children, but my husband was able to be home full time, and we felt pulled to give the opportunity a chance. Quickly, our senior friend became an extended member of our family. In the ten years that he lived with us, our family unit made countless memories together until he passed away peacefully at over 100 years old. The experience stands out in my children’s childhoods because not only did they love our friend, but also because it taught them vital lessons in compassion and caring for others. We were so grateful for this experience that we have dedicated ourselves to helping other families find it as well. Within a family care structure, everyone benefits.

❓️What service do you provide that most people don’t know about?
We also offer care training specific to the senior& #39;s activities of daily living (ADLs), safety feature recommendations and installations, wellness checks for seniors with a biological or equivalent family living out of state, continued consulting to help navigate new obstacles, respite care, and simply providing expertise and recommendations to even biological or equivalent families to consider factors in an effort to negotiate a contract before moving in together to prevent conflict at an hourly consultant rate.

❓️ What goals are you or your company trying to achieve this year? Win the Carroll Biz Challenge!

❓️What are your favorite hobbies? Learning about the brain, hiking in nature, beekeeping, caring for animals, and quilting.

❓️What three words best describe you? Altruistic, Empathetic, Encouraging

❓️ What is one thing about you that most people do not know? I was born and lived in Maine through Elementary school.

❓️Where is your favorite place to travel?
Maine for family, O’ahu, Hawai’i for scenery

❓️What are you most grateful for? People working to make the world a better place.

❓️What is your favorite quote? 家有一老如有一宝
When an elderly person lives with the family, it is equivalent to owning a great treasure.
