ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountable for designing, creating, debugging, and posting NC code used on a wide range of CNC machinery used to produce customer parts, tools, and fixtures.
• Areas of importance include:
(1) Creation and posting of NC code within budgeted/estimated time allotted.
(2) Initial accuracy of NC code, thereby requiring minimal de-bugging.
(3) Creation of NC code that allows for ease of use on the manufacturing floor.
(4) Effective system of storing and retrieval of NC programs within LAI’s computer network.
(5) Effective means of electronic transfer of NC code within LAI and to LAI’s customers and suppliers.
(6) Creating NC programs.
(7) Designing specialized tooling/fixtures to be used in the manufacturing operations.
(8) Setting up and running “first article” parts to validate the NC programs.
(9) Creating drawings or computer models for use by LAI, customers, or suppliers.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Associate Degree in Machine Tool Technology or certificate competence in relevant disciplines and trades plus four to ten years of relevant experience in CNC programming, G&M code, etc.
Must be US citizen.

• Ability to read, analyze, and understand drawings (blueprints), concept drawings, and electronic models.

• Order Entry and maintenance.
• Document archiving and/or oversight of document archiving.
• CRM / Pipeline “data keeper”, ensures all data is maintained by Business Development in a proper and consistent manner.
• RFQ Routing (receipt, approvals, risk assessment oversight, scanning, and tracking).

Sets-up and operates multi-axis computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine tools and machine centers to machine parts to specification. Benches, cleans and inspects machined parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews and verifies set-up procedures, process sheet instructions, routers and inspection procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and set-up requirements.
• Sets-up CNC machine center for “next piece” production machining.
• Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining and/or inspection.
• Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories
and materials on machine tools such as mills, lathes, jig borers and grinders.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
• Observes and monitors machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Lays-out and verifies or inspects conformance of finished work piece to specifications with visual checks and/or with the use of mechanical measuring equipment, tools or gauges.
• Assists with the set-up and operates machine with “first piece” to verify accuracy of machine settings, tools and/or program control data.
• Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
• Confers with Supervisor, Shift Leads, Engineers, Production Control personnel, Process Technicians or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Identifies, segregates, tags and notifies supervisory personnel of defective material or non-conforming part.
• Performs preventive maintenance (PM) checks before, during and after operations on machine centers.
• Deburrs and polishes machined parts to specifications using rotary and vibrating hand tools.
• Conforms to and operates within the framework of all applicable SOPs, quality, safety and ISO procedures.

The primary purpose is to pro-actively manage, plan both long term and short term and direct the functional areas of responsibility to ensure that goals related to customer satisfaction, inventory management, schedule compliance, and purchasing are met or exceeded. This position works directly with the production departments, production support functions, and plant management to achieve stated objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material.
• Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
• Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
• Consults catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
• Creates purchase order in EPR System and sends copy to supplier and department originating request.
• Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
• Computes total cost of items purchased.
• Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
• May compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates and award contract to bidders. As specified at the direction of the Program Manager.
• May verify bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approve bills for payment.
• May classify priority regulations.
• Works with PIC Operations Manager, Shift Leads and others to ensure proper release of scheduled work orders
• Creates & tracks progress of schedule on a daily basis to ensure schedules are met
• Takes pro-active approach to update customer’s orders with potential of going late
• Reviews internal capacity both short term and long term and load levels using RCCP.
• Researches and corrects discrepant order information (variances) as well as maintains ERP system data integrity.
• Aids in month end and year-end inventory processes
• Reviews process documentation (routing/bom, print, quality docs) for accuracy to meet customer requirements and inquires with the appropriate subject matter experts for clarification.
• Maintains master shipping schedule.
• Maintains forecast
• Attends Customer conference calls.
• Accepts Customer purchase orders via Customer web portals.
• Sets daily production schedule and assigns labor resources.
• Reviews rough cut capacity plan and makes recommendations for labor adjustments.
• Reviews customer demand and sets takt time for waterspiders and production cell.
• Working knowledge of sales order entry, routing structures, BOM structures.
• Performs daily maintenance of work orders.
• Ability to plan cross-site.

Knowledge of inventory control, cycle-counting, and purchasing. Must have thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts as they relate to creation of optimum flow of materials and information. Working knowledge of rough cut capacity planning, scheduling manufacturing cells and long term planning utilizing forecasts. Must be a citizen of the United States.
