Respiratory virus season is in full swing 😩 Picking up one of these Flu + COVID home tests before you have symptoms will help expedite your care. Antivirals need to be started within 48 hours of symptom onset, so testing early is key! They are available at your local pharmacies as well as online. Also, it's not too late to get your 24-25 influenza vaccine. We still have them available in clinic too.

***SAFETY ALERT***
Are you excited about the Solar Eclipse? So are we and we want to share some safety tips with you…

**Use proper eye protection:**
It's crucial to use eclipse glasses or handheld solar viewers that meet the ISO 12312-2 international safety standard. Regular sunglasses are not safe for viewing a solar eclipse. Eclipse glasses are still available at the Westmont Public Library 😎

2. **Avoid looking directly at the sun:** Even during a partial eclipse, looking directly at the sun can cause serious eye damage. Use your eclipse glasses whenever you are looking at the sun.

3. **Supervise children:**
Make sure children understand the importance of eye safety and supervise them while they are viewing the eclipse. Unlike my younger son in 2017 who was poking one eye out 😬

4. **Protect your camera:**
If you are taking photos of the eclipse, make sure to use a solar filter on your camera lens to prevent damage to the camera and your eyes.

5. **Be mindful of pets:
** Keep pets indoors or under supervision during the eclipse. Just like humans, pets can also suffer eye damage from looking at the sun.

6. **Check the weather:
** Make sure to check the weather forecast on the day of the eclipse. If it's overcast or cloudy, you may not be able to see the eclipse, but you still need to take precautions if there's a chance of the sun peeking through the clouds.

7. **Situational Awareness**
Though this will be an amazing event for all to witness, DO NOT neglect your situational awareness!

Remember to enjoy the eclipse safely and protect your eyes during this exciting event!
