Chronic stress can take a serious toll on your mind and body.

Here are 5 simple, evidence-based ways to manage stress daily:

Practice Deep Breathing – Just 5 minutes a day can lower cortisol levels and reduce anxiety.

Get Moving – Physical activity boosts endorphins and helps clear your mind.

Take Digital Breaks – Constant notifications can keep you in “fight or flight” mode.

Journal Your Thoughts – Writing helps process emotions and reduce overwhelm.

Talk to a Professional – Therapy provides tools to build resilience and prevent burnout.

"Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax." — Mark Black

Here’s how yoga can support your healing journey:

✨ Regulates the nervous system
✨ Reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression
✨ Improves body awareness and emotional resilience
✨ Releases tension stored in the body
✨ Builds self-compassion and inner calm

You don’t need to be flexible or experienced to benefit — just open to slowing down, noticing your breath, and reconnecting with yourself.

Curious about how yoga fits into therapy or mental health care? We’d love to talk. Visit graceintegrated.com.

Unexpected broken items and mistakes sure can be stressful, or is it only that?! Dr. Matt Johnson (2024) explores the Japanese art tradition of Wabi Sabi, or "finding the beauty of imperfection", to celebrate how appreciating the unexpected can offer inspiration and relief!

Are there some art traditions within different cultures that can help bring some new insight one may not have thought of before? :)

With August almost closing, going back to school can be a stressful and exciting journey of discovery and growth! Dr. Sam Sommer (2010) offers two guidance points for shifting one's mindset to find enjoyment and success at school:
1. Think of knowledge as a fluid muscle that that gets stronger through schoolwork and exercises to feel better and succeed.
2. Setbacks in school are "trials" for each of us to broaden our intellectual horizons. Learning how to respond to setbacks can be an important life lesson.

While school can be stressful in the moment, could it be thought of as an "epic journey" with positive and negatives to look back on and share with others? :)

What if your inner voice became kinder?

Self-compassion means giving yourself the same care and understanding you’d offer a friend. It’s about:
✨ Acknowledging your struggles without judgment
✨ Letting go of harsh self-criticism
✨ Reminding yourself: You are worthy, even when things go wrong

Research shows that self-compassion can reduce anxiety, improve resilience, and support emotional healing. It’s not about ignoring mistakes — it’s about responding with kindness so you can grow.

Therapy can help you develop that kinder inner voice. You don’t have to do it alone.

🐝 Buzz like a hummingbird, sting like a bee... but don’t forget to heal like a human. 🧠💛

Even the busiest bees need a break.
You can’t pollinate the world if your wings are falling off.

Therapy isn’t weakness — it’s mental maintenance.
Talk it out, rest your wings, and let the hive help you fly again. ✨

Too often, we convince ourselves that where we are right now is where we’ll always be. That our mistakes, our struggles, or even our environment define our future.

But the truth is: your starting point is not your ending point. Maybe you’re overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next move. That’s okay. You’re not failing — you’re beginning. Growth doesn’t require perfection, just movement.

Every small step you take is a powerful act of choosing yourself, your healing, and your future. Don’t underestimate how far you can go — even if today feels heavy. You’re allowed to start where you are, with what you have, and still become everything you hope to be.

About Us

As 2020 begins, I sit and contemplate the importance of therapy for families today. Where were I be personally without it? How would my children lives be different if my husband and I did not make personal growth a priority? What patterns of chaos would be happening daily in my home, in my marriage, and with the people I cherish most because of unconscious patters of dysfunction I am repeating from my own childhood because “I do not know any better.” Today, I insist on knowing better, so I can do better. That is what therapy offers to people. Have you heard the old adage, “they did the best they knew how,” as a way to reconcile how terrible older generations did at parenting. Albeit true for most, they did the best they knew how, except the best was typically abusive, traumatic, emotionally insensitive and detached. Those generational traumas being passed down decade after decade, leaving us to lean on adages like “they did they best they knew how,” as a way to cope with our own wounds. My husband and I refuse to accept the ignorance of that statement. And instead, chose on a weekly basis through our own therapy to demand a better way for us, and as an extension, our children. Grace Integrated offers to our clients a better way. Our clinicians do their own therapy, so they can help you carve out a path for your own life that is full of awareness. You no longer have to struggle, fight, and feel detached from your own life. Therapy offers a new, better way. As the founder of Grace Integrated, I advocate so fully for everyone to experience therapy because “doing the best they could,” is not best at all. Grace Integrated is a family owned and run business dedicated to healing the wounds of generations, so that we promote the new generation of best. A generation of families taught secure attachments through emotional sensitivity, parental responsiveness and unconditional love. Come and join us as it is never too late to live your best life.
