✨ Celebrating 12 Years of Leadership at APEX Health Services ✨
Today we are proud to celebrate an incredible milestone—12 years of leadership, service, and commitment from one of the guiding forces behind APEX Health Services - our CEO, Shelley Cartwright:
"Today I celebrate 12 years with APEX Health Services, an incredible organization and a milestone that invites both reflection and gratitude for me. Hospice is often viewed from the outside as “easy work,” filled with sunshine and the privilege of helping others. While the mission is deeply meaningful, the reality is that hospice leadership comes with hard days—days that test resilience, decision-making, and the heart behind the role. What I’ve learned over the years is this: you don’t let the hard days win. I have learned more from my team than any leadership book could ever teach me. Their compassion, grit, professionalism, and commitment to patients and families continually raise the bar and challenge me to be better. They remind me that excellence is built in the moments no one sees. I am profoundly grateful to the owners of this company for their trust—trust that allowed me the space to grow, refine my skills, and lead with authenticity. Their belief in my leadership has been instrumental in shaping the leader I am today. To me, leadership is about creating an environment where people feel valued, secure, and supported—where they can do their best work, even on the hardest days. It’s about standing shoulder-to-shoulder with your team when it matters most. Twelve years in, I remain inspired by this work, this mission, and the people who make it possible. And I’m reminded that the greatest privilege of leadership is not being in charge—it’s being trusted.
What stands out most in these 12 years is not just longevity, but the wisdom, perseverance, and steady leadership she brings to hospice care every single day. Hospice leadership is rarely easy—it requires strength on hard days, clarity in complex moments, and a heart deeply rooted in service. She embodies all of that."
As an organization, we are deeply grateful for:
-Her unwavering commitment to our mission
-Her ability to lead with both authenticity and accountability
-Her belief in building teams where people feel valued, supported, and trusted
Because of her leadership, countless patients and families have experienced compassionate, dignified care—and countless team members have grown, learned, and thrived.
Thank you for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with this team, for not letting the hard days win, and for reminding us that the greatest privilege of leadership is trust.
💚 Congratulations on 12 years—and thank you for all you continue to give to APEX, our patients, and our community.
