APEX is honored to work with Illinois Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Their work is centered around meeting the needs of patients and families during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. We appreciate your support and advocacy.

Advocacy in ACTION! IL-HPCO worked hard with legislators of the Illinois General Assembly to create change for Illinois patients and their families facing serious illness. We are proud that these 2025 bills have become law!

APEX Hospice and Palliative Care is recognized by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) as a partner in the We Honor Veterans program. This program recognizes current and former military members for their service and assists them in accessing benefits they are entitled to receive. Our staff is trained to work with Veterans who have war-related post-traumatic stress syndrome which frequently surfaces near end of life. Learn more at Apex-health.com

Varying by service era, statistics from the National Center for PTSD show that the number of Veterans who have been diagnosed with PTSD during their lives can range from as high as 29 percent for Operations Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Enduring Freedom (OEF) and 21 percent for the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm). This is in comparison to Veterans from the Vietnam War (10 percent) and World War II (WWII) and Korean War (three percent).
