In honor of National Skilled Nursing Care Week ​​May 10-16, 2026 and National Train Day, we took a ride with the Central Branch Railroad. It was so much fun and the volunteers were so sweet to us. One of our residents is a train enthusiast and he was allowed to sit in the engine car. Everyone enjoyed the stellar views, and we learned a lot about the Central Branch Railroad. We encourage you to come take a train ride with them and listen to their wonderful story. Their track sustained some damage after flooding in April of this year. They have started a GoFundMe to help repair the tracks.

National Train Day is commemorated on the Saturday nearest May 10, marking the anniversary of the golden spike. We had the opportunity to celebrate today. The weather was ideal for a train excursion. We extend our gratitude to the Central Branch Railroad and its volunteers for making our visit truly memorable. http://www.centralbranchrailroad.com/

Happy Mother’s Day! The ladies requested a fresh fruit salad, strawberry pastries, and creamed chip beef on toast. We also enjoyed some caramel cappuccino.

Happy Wednesday. It was chilly outside, so we stayed indoors and played noodle ball and snuggled with Pax.  in the afternoon we celebrated the beginning of Nurses Week. We have some really great nurses and we had a wonderful time making bags with fun prizes and comfort candy. Have a wonderful day and stay warm.

On Tuesday, we had another outstanding day. Amy Benz, a Master Gardener, stopped by and shared some of her favorite flowers with us, and we talked about the vegetables we are cultivating. We observed Cinco de Mayo and National Totally Chipotle Day with a chipotle-inspired meal. Angela made homemade queso with chips for a snack. Then, we participated in a resident's family celebration, wishing Dorothy a very happy birthday.
