We observed the 165th anniversary of the state of Kansas with a commemorative celebration that included bison sausage, sunflower seeds, local honey, Kansas-produced cheese, chocolate turtles, and Kansas trivia. We had a great time and as always, we hope your day was just as fun.

National Peanut Brittle Day and the first day of National Activity Professionals Week converge today. Our task was to build a human pyramid with the Activity Department members. Pax had mixed feelings about the pyramid, but we had fun watching him try. In a morning experiment, Angela blew bubbles in the cold air; the bubbles showed signs of freezing but didn't last long. Later, we played with the human slot machine and enjoyed peanut brittle, making for a fun-filled day. We hope your day was as enjoyable as ours.

In observance of National Pie Day yesterday and National Peanut Butter Day today, we opted for a compromise by enjoying peanut butter pie. Thank you B3 Bakery for the generous donation of peanut butter pie. It was delicious. We will definitely order from you again.

Happy National Hat Day! We tried on hats and then played with game hats. We even had a little fun with Photoshop. I threw in a Throwback Thursday picture of Pax and Joe from last year‘s hat day. It was a full day of fun. We are finishing up the day with some ice cream. As always, we hope your day was as fun as ours.

We love visiting with animals. Watching Buckey the baby goat jump and play was so much fun. Thank you Jimmy Jarvis for brightening our day.

We went to the “Coffee with a master gardener” event this morning. Thank you 5-H Greenhouse for your advice and support. We are really excited about getting a greenhouse and we are looking forward to planting our garden.

Happy New (Noon)Year!!! We opted for a mid-day celebration, to mark the occasion. We enjoyed five of the seven traditional dishes symbolic of good fortune in the coming year.

These are just a few of the pictures and a bit of the fun that we have had recently. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We have been busy with numerous food celebrations, holiday crafts, visits from Santa, baking, and taking in all of the beautiful lights. We hope your celebrations were as joyous as ours.

We took the bus out this evening to check out all of the Christmas lights in Westmoreland. We even received a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

We had a Cracker Barrel Christmas, at Wellsprings tonight. We ate items from the Cracker Barrel menu while being serenaded by carolers. Our official Christmas celebration will be next Thursday the 18th. I will post videos of the carolers in the comments below.
