We have an inner court yard that can be seen from some rooms, however it is not accessible to foot traffic. A brilliant idea came up to have some painted rocks and make it a memorial that can be seen from inside the building. On Earth Day some residents and staff painted rocks. Here it is! This can also be seen on 1st floor across from the Eaton-Hunt Conference Room.

May is a busy month here at Maplewood. The week of May 10-16 is National Nursing Home Week. This is when we like to celebrate staff and residents. We have loads of things going on that week, including Prom on May 14! Each day of that week we do something special for the staff in appreciation for all they do, plus a special activity for the residents. It will be a busy and exciting week. Each day there is a theme for what to wear if you decide to participate. This includes residents, staff and visitors if you wish to participate.

There will be photos coming. Likely the following week as it does take time to go through them and verify that we have permission to post photos of all residents included in them (even the background!).

Abraham had a new adventure! Alison Adams author of Abraham's Adventure came to Maplewood along with the celebrity himself, Abraham. She read her book to the residents while Abraham entertained the crowd. As you can tell he was a big hit!

We held our annual volunteer dinner last week. Volunteers are so important to our programs. We appreciate all who help out here at Maplewood. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer here please reach out to our Activities Director Michelle at 603-399-7376. There are many opportunities such as providing music, serving on the Auxiliary, transporting residents to activities, pet therapy, reading to residents, doing puzzles with residents, participating in group activities, etc. Come on over and become part of the Maplewood dream team!

Are you looking to get out of the house on occasion and make a little extra cash? Do you like to interact with people and answer phones? If you are not looking for regular hours, but have availability during the day, and could be available last minute to fill a shift; then Maplewood has just the position for you! We are looking for 1 or 2 people to join our receptionist team as a per diem. When we have callouts or planned days off we rely on our per diem staff to fill the shift. That may mean you get a call or text around 7am asking if you can work that day. These are not regularly scheduled hours that happen often. Most of the time our per diems work 10-20 days a year depending on need. Possible hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with holidays and weekends 8am-4pm.
