Braden landed the job. But his story started long before his job interview.

It started with free, purposeful programming at GiGi’s Playhouse Las Vegas. Literacy tutoring helped Braden build the skills and confidence to complete his first job application and pursue the future he envisioned.

This World Down Syndrome Day, your gift helps more young adults like Braden gain the skills, confidence, and support they need to achieve their goals and show the world they were Born to be Heard.

Braden always wanted a job.

During 1:1 Literacy Tutoring at GiGi's Playhouse Las Vegas, his tutor, Denise, asked him about his future, and Braden didn't hesitate. He knew what he wanted: a job.

Denise didn’t just believe in Braden; she rolled up her sleeves and helped him make it happen, guiding him through reading, completing, and submitting his very first job application. Braden then walked confidently into Jason's Deli for his interview, and...

He got the job!

World Down Syndrome Day is March 21st, and at GiGi's Playhouse, we're celebrating Braden and every individual with Down syndrome who is achieving goals, taking bold steps, and showing the world that they were born to be heard!

🌟 Wish List Wednesday! 🌟

With all the learning, creating, cooking, and moving that happens at GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau, we discovered something important last week at our adult programming…
👉 Our bums get sore! 😅

Even with outdoor walks and busy kitchen time, those hard foldable chairs start feeling pretty uncomfortable by the end of the day. So today’s Wish List Wednesday feature is a simple but super helpful item:
💺 Seat Cushions for Sore Butts!

These cushions help our participants stay comfy, focused, and ready to learn all day long. If you’d love to support our programs in a fun (and very practical!) way, check out our Amazon Wish List!

GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau

GiGi’s Playhouse is the ONLY nationwide network of Down syndrome achievement centers; changing lives through free, results-driven programs for individuals of all ages, families and communities. GiGi’s Playhouse is an inspirational and dedicated place for families to celebrate their child and benefit from free programs that unleash joy, confidence and continuous improvement. Playhouses empower children and adults to achieve their “Best of All” and to pursue their dreams. Founded by GiGi's Mom, Nancy Gianni, in Hoffman Estates, IL, the organization now includes 46 community Playhouses including the first global Playhouse location in Mexico. In helping individuals with Down syndrome, we can address our larger vision of global acceptance for people of all abilities. Playhouse programs, marketing and PR campaigns, impact partnerships and community engagements all aim to change society’s outdated perceptions by showcasing participants’ skills, contributions and character. By breaking down barriers and changing the way the world accepts individuals with Down syndrome, we can foster a daily mindset of life, love, acceptance and hope for everyone.

My name is Erica Erdman and I am the mother of Braxton who has Down syndrome. Before I had Braxton, I really had no idea what Down syndrome was. I was afraid of what the future would hold for Braxton based on the limited resources in our area. I was skeptical about the opportunities available for him and even more so, worried about how he would be accepted into the community. But what I have discovered to be a beacon to the Down syndrome community at large is GiGi’s Playhouse. I am so excited to introduce the North Central WI community to GiGi’s Playhouse and even more thrilled to involve YOU in this endeavor. This is what “community” is all about! Your contributions and donations will go towards the opening of the very first GiGi’s Playhouse in North Central, WI. YOU will be a part of this life changing community center, YOU will be a part of impacting the lives of so many. YOU will be a part of our dream of global acceptance!
