We have our first Dani's Community Quest of 2026!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of touring the Wisconsin Lions Camp with Camp Director Andrea and our very own Mark from the playhouse, who has been a counselor at the camp in previous years. From the moment we arrived, I was in complete awe. Andrea was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate, and I am so thankful for the personal, in-depth tour she provided. Seeing firsthand the care, planning, and heart that goes into every...

What does your kitchen look and smell like? Our adults made chicken parmesan and the Playhouse was hopping and boy does it smell good.

Our adults programs continue to grow in overall participation and we love it! A special and very exciting announcement will be coming soon that we cannot wait to share with our community regarding how we plan to support this growth. Stay tuned.

🌟Volunteer Spotlight - Nikki🌟

At GiGi’s Playhouse, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Their time, dedication, and belief in the abilities of our participants create opportunities that foster confidence, independence, and lifelong skills. This month, we are proud to shine the spotlight on Niki Wudi, a volunteer whose compassion, personal connection, and vision continue to positively impact our GiGi’s Playhouse community.

Why
Niki was inspired to get involved with GiGi’s Playhouse because of a deeply personal connection—she has a family member with Down syndrome. Through her own experiences, she has witnessed the strengths, talents...

GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau

GiGi’s Playhouse is the ONLY nationwide network of Down syndrome achievement centers; changing lives through free, results-driven programs for individuals of all ages, families and communities. GiGi’s Playhouse is an inspirational and dedicated place for families to celebrate their child and benefit from free programs that unleash joy, confidence and continuous improvement. Playhouses empower children and adults to achieve their “Best of All” and to pursue their dreams. Founded by GiGi's Mom, Nancy Gianni, in Hoffman Estates, IL, the organization now includes 46 community Playhouses including the first global Playhouse location in Mexico. In helping individuals with Down syndrome, we can address our larger vision of global acceptance for people of all abilities. Playhouse programs, marketing and PR campaigns, impact partnerships and community engagements all aim to change society’s outdated perceptions by showcasing participants’ skills, contributions and character. By breaking down barriers and changing the way the world accepts individuals with Down syndrome, we can foster a daily mindset of life, love, acceptance and hope for everyone.

My name is Erica Erdman and I am the mother of Braxton who has Down syndrome. Before I had Braxton, I really had no idea what Down syndrome was. I was afraid of what the future would hold for Braxton based on the limited resources in our area. I was skeptical about the opportunities available for him and even more so, worried about how he would be accepted into the community. But what I have discovered to be a beacon to the Down syndrome community at large is GiGi’s Playhouse. I am so excited to introduce the North Central WI community to GiGi’s Playhouse and even more thrilled to involve YOU in this endeavor. This is what “community” is all about! Your contributions and donations will go towards the opening of the very first GiGi’s Playhouse in North Central, WI. YOU will be a part of this life changing community center, YOU will be a part of impacting the lives of so many. YOU will be a part of our dream of global acceptance!
