Therapeutic Chill Yoga Lisa Feldman B.S., M.S. RYT Therapeutic Adaptive Yoga Specialist

Accessible Yoga Ambassador Became registered Yoga Alliance Teacher (RYT-200) in 2008.

Accessible Yoga-Adapted for Everyone Yoga class designed for everyone. Athletes, Seniors, those with disabilities or chronic health issues, and anyone who does not feel comfortable in a traditional yoga class. Breath work, asana, and meditation merge leaving you feeling refreshed and empowered. Modifications are always provided as needed so that everyone feels welcome. Come As You Are, Use What You Have, Do What You Can"

My classes are always different depending on the day and needs of the students. Each session moves in a smooth organic way from breathwork to asanas and finally relaxation and meditation. Special attention is always paid to alignment, moving in synchrony with the breath, and most importantly guiding students to find a grounded connection to who they are inside and in the space that surrounds us all. I have a keen eye for technique, and body mechanics and specializes in injury rehabilitation and prevention. Certified in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, experience in adaptive yoga for people with disabilities, and Hot Yoga styles. Lisa has also been a personal trainer and fitness instructor for the past 33 years and recognized by both the American College of Sports Medicine and American Council on Exercise

Everyone can practice yoga, every soul that enters my room I hope they will leave feeling invigorated, empowered, strong, and grounded. And with the thought, "I can't wait to do this again!"

So most of you that know me, are aware I rarely post on Facebook. However after my yoga practice at home today, while laying in savasana, looking up at the sky, I found the slow movement of the clouds so peaceful and meditative.

This video is 60 seconds, perhaps listen to it or watch it and for those 60 seconds take mindful full inhales and exhales

Right now I encourage everyone to step outside in your yard, patio, or wherever you are and take even only 60 seconds to lay and look upwards and mindfully breathe each day.

This will pass eventually

Fewer than 10% of patients with low back pain need forward bending exercises to primarily resolve their pain. Unfortunately I almost always find that people are doing this - often prescribed by a medical professional. Forward bending (rounding your low back) exercises include toe touching, knee(s) to chest, child's pose, and any number of hip or leg stretches in which the low back rounds. The majority of people with low back pain need the opposite movement (extension), while some need rotation or sideglide. By performing a thorough evaluation, we can find what motion your back needs. Only very rarely will you be given bending motions because - even though it might temporarily feel good - it will not likely help in the long run.

Where do you get your medical information from? Who informs your beliefs about orthopedic injuries, aches, and pains? Many people receive information from their general doctors, though they are generally not well educated when it comes to orthopedics. It may be your friends, family, or the Internet providing you with advice. Or someone like an orthopedist, surgeon, physical therapist, or chiropractor.

There is a LOT of misinformation out there. Ultimately this leads to a lot of people in pain as well as a lot of unnecessary and/or useless interventions such as medications, surgeries, and prolonged "conservative care."

Using the McKenzie method, I diagnose and treat people's aches and pains very differently than what is out there. As a result, my diagnosis often differs from the diagnosis that patients receive elsewhere. The large majority of patients resolve their pain in about 5 visits by employing the self-assessment and self-treatment approach I provide.

If you have questions about your problem, feel free to contact me. I am happy to discuss what I think may be going on before you decide you want to work together.
