COVID-19 Vaccine Update

We at Weston Pediatrics strongly support vaccines as an important and effective way to fight vaccine preventable diseases. The COVID vaccines that have been authorized for emergency use by the FDA have been shown to be safe and effective in preventing severe COVID disease and hospitalization. We support their use for eligible patients.

Right now, the Pfizer vaccine is approved for patients 16 years old and older, the Moderna for 18 years old and older. Data on vaccine trials in younger kids will be coming out later in the year.

At the present time, Weston Pediatrics does not have a supply of COVID-19 vaccine. As vaccine supply continues to evolve and improve over the coming weeks and months, we will keep our patients and families informed if and when we expect to receive a supply. We are in regular communication with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health regarding supply and allotment.

Weston Pediatrics strongly recommends that our families pursue all options to be vaccinated to improve your chances of getting an appointment as soon as possible. Please see the links below for more information on vaccine preregistration and the stateโ€™s appointment finder.
