Understanding that summer schedules are packed, here are three foundational core exercises that can be done anywhere to protect your back:
The Dead Bug builds coordination between core muscles while teaching stability. Patients lie on their back and slowly move opposite arms and legs while keeping their core engaged.
Modified Planks strengthen all core muscles simultaneously. Starting on knees and forearms, this exercise builds endurance without straining the back.
Bird Dog improves balance and coordination between back and core muscles. Performed on hands and knees, this exercise teaches proper movement patterns.
We recommend starting with just 5 minutes of core work three times per week, gradually building strength and endurance over time.
