Muffin Mondays and Soup Saturdays?! Yes please. Having some kind of rhythm or flow with food that my kids can join in on has been the best every season, but definitely more so in the fall and winter!

Having a plan or even just a list of ideas of what you want to do (and need to do) for this season can help unload thoughts that seem to be floating in your mind. Halloween costumes, put away summer clothes, carve pumpkins, pick apples, holiday prep, clean xyz. Having seasonal goals can help keep you focused and organized.

REST. Watch a show with your kids so they can see you need rest too. Set a timer for everyone to do a quiet activity together or separately. Close your eyes.

Books outside, snacks outside, watch plants change outside. Early morning and early evening light are so benefits for everyone’s sleep rhythms.

WARM your body inside and out. You might even consider changing your skin care routine to add something with a little more luxury and oomf like steam or warm towels. Wrap yourself and your littles up in coziness.

I love you and hope that you do, too 💛

(Calen)dula and (Mari)gold ~ my two loves that have drawn me deeper into life and my life’s work 💛

Since 2010 I’ve been walking a winding path of supporting kids and families. It’s taken me to every neighborhood along the Southcoast, into countless libraries, parks and playgrounds. From early intervention to yoga for preschoolers, their teachers and parents.. I’ve landed here. Offering therapy for those that cross the threshold of parenthood, physical and emotional support through yoga & mindfulness and coaching through pregnancy and postpartum to support hopes, desires and the inevitable challenges that arise.

2 babies, 2 very different pregnancies/births and postpartum journeys have given me such a broader perspective of motherhood and the ever evolving changes and needs of growing families.

You’ve been asking me about yoga classes and therapy and while I don’t have a return date yet, I am very much looking forward to supporting you through your new chapters while I navigate mine!

Life with two 🏵️🌼✨The sweetest 11 days that have made me realize how inquisitive my son is and how many questions I field in a day 😅

All jokes aside, my body feels strong, my mind is a little scattered but much less anxious than with my first newborn and the sleep shock isn’t as intense, but sleeping 2 hours at a time still isn’t easy.

My village is delivering all the support for us and I am so grateful.

And the EC (elimination communication) journey begins again! Zero expectations, just a practice in communicating with my babe. + Keeping this lil bum clean whenever I can.

One week with Mari Z. 🌼 Born at home 8.8lbs, 20 inches under an almost full pink moon.

Still reveling in the power of the birth I dreamed of and the sweetness of a newborn. And that we blessed the exact spot where she was born ✨

My midwives .birth .body.midwife and husband led me through the portal during what was truly a golden afternoon (and so many of you serendipitously reached out having felt I was there!)

It’s been such a healing week. Thank you to everyone who has reached out 🥰

It’s World Maternal Mental Health Day 🌎

Everyone is impacted by maternal mental health, not just mothers and birthing people. Birth - the most basic of human behaviors and yet our country unfortunately does the worse at protecting and supporting US.

Along with MANY others I’m hoping to shift the tides for our future generations. There is help and hope for anyone struggling with PMADS and the overall transitions/adjustments of fertility, child bearing, birth and parenting.

Keep conversations going and make it known that you’re a safe person to talk to, guiding family and friends to seek help because they are not in this alone.

Yoga Poses as Labor (or pre-labor) Positions✨✨art by from their digital stickers for birth workers pack ✨

Supta Badha Konasana or Bound Angle Pose or Butterfly 🦋

Early labor is all about relaxing!! Start connecting with your breath, and let your body prepare to bring your baby earth side. The external rotation can help baby find their way down into the pelvis by opening the upper pelvis.

In pregnancy, this inclined supine position can be a nice alternative to lying flat on your back (if your not comfortable there), plus the bolster adds an extra layer of heart opening, and who doesn’t need that?!

So this was a blog post, a workshop idea, then a video and now a simple IG post that is shareable and a conversation starter!

How is this related to yoga or mental health?!

When I first started practicing yoga, I met lots of new people and was introduced to new (to me) ways of living. I started understanding how to purge the junk in my mind which led to me wanting to take better care of my body and my home 🌎+🏠

My sister was selling Ava Anderson products (anyone remember?!) and honestly their education for consumers was incredible. It was my intro into why I might be headache prone, have skin issues, hormones all over the place etc..

The countless chemicals in body and home products is 🤯 They can disrupt your entire system which leads to real physical symptoms and naturally, mental dis-ease. When you don’t feel your best, your mood is impacted 💯

So anyway, I’ve found alternatives to all these things that humans JUST THROW AWAY 💸 and haven’t looked back since. I’ll make a post for that, too!

What’s something you want to stop buying/throwing away?
