THE ANKLE-TO-KNEE PIPELINE. 📉

Did you “walk off” an ankle sprain a few months ago? Your knee might be paying the price.

When you sprain an ankle, the ligaments heal, but the joint often freezes up. You lose Dorsiflexion (the ability for the shin to move over the foot).

The ankle is your body’s shock absorber. If the shock absorber is jammed, the impact of your next run, jump, or cut doesn’t just disappear. It travels up the kinetic chain and brutally overloads the knee.

Don’t wait for a knee injury to fix an ankle problem.

THE TEST: The 5-Inch Wall Screen.

1️⃣ Put your bare foot 5 inches from a wall.
2️⃣ Drive your knee straight forward to touch the wall.
3️⃣ Your heel MUST stay glued to the floor.

👇 Audit: Did you pass the test? Does your left side match your right side? Drop a 🟢 or 🔴 in the comments!

🦶🧠 Ever heard of the Windlass Effect?
It’s one of the coolest (and most important) mechanisms in your body!!!

The Windlass Effect describes how the plantar fascia (bottom of the foot) tightens as the toes extend (dorsiflex) during gait or exercise—especially at toe-off. This tightening shortens the distance between the front and back of the foot, which:

✅ Elevates the medial longitudinal arch
✅ Converts the foot from a flexible shock absorber into a rigid lever
✅ Improves propulsion efficiency during activity
✅ Reduces excessive pronation and stabilizes the midfoot

Biomechanically, this mechanism links the entire foot into a coordinated system that optimizes force transfer from the ground to the kinetic chain (ankle → knee → hip → spine).

When the Windlass Effect is impaired—due to limited big toe extension when loaded, plantar fascia pain, or intrinsic foot muscle weakness—the foot remains overly mobile during push-off. This can increase stress on surrounding tissues and contribute to:

⚠️ Plantar fasciitis
⚠️ Achilles tendinopathy
⚠️ Knee and hip dysfunction
⚠️ Altered gait mechanics
⚠️ Unexplained lower back pain

👟 Restoring the Windlass Effect involves:
• Improving first-toe mobility
• Strengthening intrinsic foot muscles
• Supporting proper arch mechanics with footwear or orthotics
• Addressing biomechanical problems (ankle and hip control)

Your feet are not just passive structures—they are dynamic biomechanical systems designed for efficiency and stability. Optimize the Windlass Effect, and you optimize movement. 💪

Creatine isn’t just for bulking. It’s for thinking. 🧠⚡️

Most people think creatine is just for weight room PRs. While it does help with explosive power and muscle endurance, the cognitive benefits are just as powerful.

Your brain uses 20% of your body’s metabolic energy. Creatine helps replenish ATP (energy) stores in the muscles AND brain, helping you:
⚡️ Clear brain fog
🎯 Dial in focus
📉 Reduce mental fatigue

Whether you’re an athlete on the field or a corporate athlete in the boardroom, this is one of the most researched and safest supplements for total performance.

Start the New Year strong. We’re fully stocked with Thorne Creatine (NSF Certified for Sport).
