Did you know that people with naturally heavy eyelids may start feeling that their eyelids are getting too heavy as early as their 30s? Here are the things we talk about when someone comes for an upper blepharoplasty consultation (*not specific only to those in their 30’s):
✔️ Is it bothering you enough now to have the surgery?
✔️ Your desired result and what is realistic
✔️ Your eye & overall health
✔️ Yes, you will need/want it again. Most results “last” 8-12 years, but there is usually a finite number you can have in your lifetime (2-3)
✔️ Do your work & family obligations allow you to take the time to recover and heal properly
✔️ Is it easily affordable

Scars typically look their worst at around 4-6 weeks after surgery: red, raised & bumpy. That is normal wound healing. While hypertrophic scarring can happen and may require anti-inflammatory injection(s), most upper blepharoplasty incisions heal very well.
