After more than 25 years of extraordinary leadership, Jane Ross, Founder and Executive Director of Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, has retired.

Since founding Smart Kids in 2000, Jane helped transform the landscape for families raising children with learning and attention challenges. At a time when many parents felt isolated and unsure where to turn, she created a trusted source of information, expert guidance, and a community where families could support one another.

Under Jane’s leadership, Smart Kids grew into one of the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to empowering parents and celebrating children who learn differently. Through our newsletter, website, educational programs, and nationally recognized annual Parent Conference, Smart Kids has connected families with leading experts in dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning, and other learning differences while championing a strengths-based perspective that recognizes the extraordinary talents of these children.

As we celebrate Jane’s remarkable legacy, we’re also looking ahead. Lisa Pannone, who has served on the Smart Kids Board of Directors for the past five years, will step in as Interim Executive Director to help guide the organization through this next chapter.

The mission Jane established more than two decades ago continues: empowering parents, building community, and ensuring every child with learning differences has the opportunity to recognize and develop their unique strengths. We are incredibly grateful to Jane for her vision, dedication, and tireless advocacy. Please join us in celebrating Jane! ♥️

Children with ADHD and learning differences are often defined by their hardest moments. Over time, those perceptions can shape peer relationships, teacher expectations, and a child’s own self-esteem.

This session will help parents understand how reputations form, why they’re so hard to shake, and, most importantly, what you can do. You’ll walk away with practical advocacy language, strategies to repair social missteps, and tools to protect your child’s sense of belonging.

Join us for expert-led breakout sessions and meaningful conversations that support families navigating learning and attention differences.
