May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month!
We want to take this time to recognize speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and audiology and SLP assistants on the work that they do.

~9.4 million adults report having a problem using their voice

~2 million Americans have aphasia

More than half of all adults report having hearing problems, but only 11% seek treatment

Happy National Rehab Awareness Week! What better way to celebrate than with this amazing team of PTs, OTs, and SLP at AIM Neuro Rehab?! In honor of Rehab Awareness Week we held our first annual networking event to connect vendors, physicians, individuals with neurologic diagnoses, and their families/caregivers. Thank you for making this event such a huge success and can’t wait to continue on our journey!

September 15, 2023 is National Concussion Awareness Day. Concussion Awareness Day is recognized each year on the third Friday of September to allow the opportunity for individuals and health care professionals to connect and discuss how best to recognize a concussion, treat it appropriately, and support the individual experiencing a concussion in the best way possible. Physical, occupational, and speech therapists can assist in concussion recovery through vision rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, balance rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, and education for symptom management. Recovery from a concussion can be a complicated process confounded by various symptoms that impact each other. It takes a team approach of skilled health care providers to promote an active recovery. At AIM Neuro Rehab, many of our therapists hold specialty certifications in treating individuals with concussions. It is our goal to provide the necessary treatment and education to allow individuals to recover appropriately and be able to return back to their daily lives including sports participation, schooling, or work.
