🏀 HISTORY MADE!

Congratulations to Zach Freemantle (BC Class of 2019) on signing with the LA Clippers! Zach is Bergen Catholic’s first NBA player and the first coached by Billy Armstrong to reach the league.

From Crusader red & gold to the bright lights of the NBA, Zach’s journey is an incredible story of hard work, determination, and talent. We couldn’t be prouder to see him represent us on basketball’s biggest stage.

Huge congratulations to our very own Coach Billy on his induction into the 2025 Bergen Catholic Hall of Fame! 🏀

A standout from the Class of 1994, Billy played a key role in one of Bergen Catholic’s most historic seasons, leading the team to a 27-2 record and capturing league, county, and state championships. His talent earned him First-Team All-League and First-Team All-County honors, along with multiple Division I scholarship offers. He continued his success at Davidson College, where he helped the Wildcats to a Southern Conference Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth.

Billy’s impact extends far beyond his playing days. After a 7-year professional career overseas, he returned home to give back to the game and his community, co-founding Hoop Dreamz with his wife Lauren to inspire the next generation of athletes. As Bergen Catholic’s Varsity Head Coach for the past 14 years, he has led his teams to 4 county titles, 4 sectional titles, and 3 state titles, all while shaping young men into leaders on and off the court.

Well-deserved, Coach Billy! Your legacy continues to inspire! 🙌

We are thrilled to announce a new addition to our Hoop Dreamz coaching staff—please join us in welcoming Coach Annie Carlile!

Coach Annie also serves as the Women's Basketball Assistant Coach at D1 Fairleigh Dickinson University alongside legendary coach Stephanie Gaitley. She brings a wealth of experience and passion to our team.

As Coach Annie prepares to help lead the FDU Knights in their upcoming NCAA tournament game today against the No. 2 seed TCU, we want to extend our best wishes to her and the team.
