Wims had a great turnout for our May Professional Clothing Drive!

Thank you to everyone that cleaned out their closets to help people with professional work wear at Rose Brooks Center. Rose Brooks is a shelter for domestic violence victims who often leave their homes with little to no posessions, dobationa to https://rosebrooks.org/ RoseBrooks helps them get back on their feet!

We have just one week left in our WIMS Clothing Drive for Rosebrook's Domestic Violence Shelter. Drop off your "work casual wear" in one of several donation sites on main KUMC campus - General Surgery Office, Internal Medicine 6th Floor, GME 1st Floor Delp, or the Physicians Lounge by end of day 5/31!

Thanks to those that have donated! several barrels are already over half full!

❤️❤️❤️We had an amazing celebration on 4/10 for the GRAND OPENING of the new double user lactation room on the 2nd floor of Orr Major! This room has been funded and furnished by the Joy McCann Professorship for Women in Medicine and Science (WIMS) as well as members of the KUMC WIMS community to ensure users have a relaxing space that meets the gold standard of the institution!!

Thank you ESPECIALLY to Dr. Gilmer for allowing us to build this legacy space in honor of Dr. Joy McCann!

Many thanks to the KUMC Well-being Taskforce and its Lactation Subcommittee as well as the KUMC WIMS executive committee and the KUMC Construction team for their efforts to make this possible!

This year the gratitude fundraiser will be raising money to outfit the new Joy McCann Professorship double-user lactation room that is scheduled for construction to begin January 2025 in Orr Major! This new space will support lactating individuals while on campus in a warm and comfortable environment. This new space will be equipped with:

Hello WIMS Community,
Save the date for the next WIMS event on Monday, November 4th at 12pm. The event: a book club meeting! We will discuss the book You are a Bada$$: How to Stop Doubting your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero. Please read the book prior to the meeting so we can have a great conversation!. This book is all about giving us the tools to identify and change the self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors that are stopping us from getting what we really want. More details will be announced soon, but we hope you are able to join us for this in-person event!

This book is available at Mid-Continent Public Library, Johnson County Library, on the Libby app, on Audible and from book sellers.
