Halloween should be fun, not stressful — for you and your child. 💛Here are a few simple, therapy-approved ways to make the night easier for every communicator:

💙 1️⃣ Use a blue pumpkin!
It’s a great way to signal that your child may communicate differently — helping others offer patience, kindness, and understanding.

💬 2️⃣ Bring a communication board or AAC device.
This helps your child participate in trick-or-treating their way. (We’ve have free all of these print outs available for you)

🏡 3️⃣ Do a practice run!
Rehearse saying “Trick or Treat” at home and role-play with your child so they know what to expect

🧠 4️⃣ Support their sensory needs.
Choose comfy costumes, take breaks, and keep headphones or fidgets handy.

🍬 5️⃣ Remember — participation > perfection.
Whether your child says “Trick or Treat,” taps a picture, or gives a smile — it all counts. 💬
