Katie and her daughters live in northern New Jersey USA. She plays an active role in the cancer world. She chooses to pay forward to others all the goodness the people gave her daughter Elizabeth.

She has a BS in accounting, MS in taxation and is a certified public accountant. Once cancer hit her family, she pivoted. She left her corporate job and became a holistic practitioner. She’s one of the top practitioners in the USA.

Next up in Mounties on the Move is Katie Fasciano (née Cann), who recently published her first book, "Never Give Up Hope: The Little Girl Who Changed the World." The book is about Katie's eldest daughter, Elizabeth, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was just one year old. Though Elizabeth lost her battle with cancer when she was only seven, the impact she left on her family, friends and the world at large has been immeasurable. "For years, people told me that I needed to write a book, but I pushed it off," recalls Fasciano. "Then I met a book coach and it was the right time. Elizabeth's story is so important for people to hear and the writing process was very cathartic. All of us can benefit from hearing each other's stories."

Tonight at 6:30pm, Fasciano will be at the Sloatsburg Library for an author Meet and Greet, where you'll be able to hear more of Elizabeth's story and purchase copies of her book. Though she lives in New Jersey currently, Fasciano looks back fondly on her time at SHS. "My favorite memory was playing violin in the pit orchestra," she says. "It was amazing to be playing the music for the musicals."
