Ashley, Physical Therapist, finds purpose in the moments that matter most: connecting with her patients.

“The best part of my day is the first few minutes of every session,” she says. “That’s when you really get to know your patients, support their healing and celebrate the wins they reach during their recovery."

Ashley feels that same sense of connection beyond the clinic. Support and recognition are part of everyday culture. “It’s common to see a teammate recognized or spotlighted after a great patient comment or review,” she shares. “When wins are celebrated, it pushes everyone to keep getting better.”

She’s also been encouraged to keep growing. “I’ve had opportunities to develop as a therapist in a specialty field,” Ashley says. “My supervisor, the hospital culture and the physicians have all supported me in taking that next step.”

Pascack Valley Medical Center was honored to be part of Alexis’s unforgettable Make-A-Wish day, in partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health. With a dream of becoming a trauma surgeon, Alexis spent the day immersed in hands-on learning and real-world experiences.

The adventure began on the PVMC helipad, Alexis’s first stop on an exciting journey into emergency medicine. From there, he flew via helicopter to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he explored emergency techniques, participated in trauma simulations, and even got an inside look at the future of care through advanced robotic surgery.

Inspiring moments like these remind us why we do what we do every day. 💫 Thank you to Make-A-Wish America and Hackensack Meridian Health for bringing Alexis’s dream to life!
